Athanasia has released their new video for “Spoils of War”, and in doing so, have rejuvenated Metal, in my opinion, by giving “Spoils of War” the hooks and beat that have been lacking in the genre for far too long. They have actually thrown the book out on the rules of hardcore that have been followed by bands time and time again as of late and made a track and video that are absent with any and all cliché and have triumphantly brought back what has been sorely lacking in more of the newer, harder acts with their release. Creativity. Simply put, Athanasia stay that original while keeping what was important to metal in the first place, which is pure rebellion and complete abandon. And that is where the true talent lies.
