On Sunday, August 24, 2014, the Musicquarium Lounge at Seattle’s Triple Door Theater will host Jamming for June, a free concert intended to raise money for the cancer support community Gilda’s Club Seattle. Sanjaya Malakar of American Idol fame is headlining the show, with backing from jazz band The Chaz Lipp Group. Also performing are singer-songwriter Kristin Allen-Zito and jazz vocalist Lisa Fox.

The Jamming for June fundraising event will honor the memory of June Draeger-Otis, who was a member of Gilda’s Club Seattle. The show is scheduled for 7:00-10:00 PM and is open to the public (21 and over) with no cover charge. Donations are encouraged and 100 percent of the collected funds will benefit Gilda’s Club.

“This will be the second benefit show my wife Sherry and I have staged to honor her mother June while raising awareness for Gilda’s Club,” event coordinator Chaz Lipp said. “We’re happy to welcome back Sanjaya Malakar, Kristin Allen-Zito, and a number of other great musicians who are all donating their time for the cause.”

Gilda’s Club Seattle is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization, established in 2002 in honor of the late comedienne Gilda Radner. The organization provides free support services for men, women, teens and children who are living with cancer, along with their family members and friends. In the twelve years since opening, they have served countless people and continue to grow.
