Goldpark has today released their new single titled ‘Covered In Sunshine’. Grit mixed with groove overlayed with serene guitars and a bit of strings, ‘Covered In Sunshine’ adds a smile to what may have been a dreary and hot summer with a positive song and memorable hook that lasts a lifetime and feels infinite. Simply a beautiful song, Goldpark remind us that there is still happiness in this world.

Goldpark hone in on their arena-ready rock sound with “Covered in Sunshine.” Swelling with bright guitar riffs, groove-infused bass and anthemic percussion, the song builds towards an irrepressible chorus destined to be sung by future crowds: “Covered in sunshine / Part of life / Covered in sunshine / Today don’t feel so heavy.”
Lead vocalist Wes Hunter expands on the simple yet powerful meaning of the song: “’Covered in Sunshine’ is about the power of stepping outside. All of these problems, anxieties, and fears that have come from a reliance on technology feel a little less heavy when we step into the sunlight. That’s where we realize where ‘real life’ actually lives. Being a ‘part of life’ isn’t being fully connected at all times with the world around us through a viewfinder. It’s being a part of the outside world we forget about so often.”
“Covered in Sunshine” is the second single from Goldpark’s forthcoming sophomore EP and follows the lead single, “Lady Lightyear.” The band co-wrote “Covered in Sunshine” with Trent Dabbs (Kacey Musgraves, Ingrid Michaelson, COIN) and Jeremy Lutito (Needtobreathe, Joy Oladokun, Colony House) produced the track.
Goldpark released their debut EP, ‘Goldpark One,’ in August 2021 on Hazel Street Records. Now, after nearly a year of touring around the US with a mix of solo shows, support gigs and festival slots, the trio are ready to share a whole new collection of songs. “[This EP] is special for so many reasons,” they remark. “We had the right songs, the right producer, and the right spirit. This body of work is the best representation of who we are and where we are going. We hope this EP makes people smile.”
