ID:EARTH has today premiered her new video for the track titled ‘Alarm’ from her new album, also dropping today, ‘Space Station’ released via ATIV Records.

With ‘Space Station’, we get an insight of an artist’s impression of space travel, which makes absolute sense in that we get there, inevitably, via our collective imagination. ‘Alarm’ is a part of that imagination. One signature stamp on a collective of signature sounds that neither battle nor fight for your personal dominance. They simply exist to spark the fuel in your mind.

With ‘Alarm’, the video, we get that lucid time between dream state and awareness, when our minds are the most captive and energetic. That is where this song lies. Think of it as a soundtrack for that sense of self that commands the body and mind to begin it’s day. That fleeting moment when time becomes fluid and almost non-linear via perspective. The music, beat, and vocals all seem to dance and prod said mind as they twist within the airspace you hear them in.

Comforting and controlled. Angelic with a beat. ‘Alarm is that song that sneaks into your mind and winds it’s way into your heart. The perfect introduction to a new album.

About ID: Earth

South Korean alt-pop / electronic artist ID:EARTH (아이디얼스) releases ‘Alarm’, the final track off the upcoming sophomore album ‘Space Station’ due 12th December through ATIV Records, bringing a fitting denouement to her long-spun tapestry of otherworldly characters and stories.

Following on from her recent singles ‘Stars’ and ‘Aliens’, ‘Alarm’ explores the polarising musings on society and human experiences with technology. Sung in both English and Hangul (한글) ID:EARTH’s measured ethereal vocals flit seamlessly over evocative, oddball electronic beats.

She explains: “With ‘Alarm’ I was hoping to fulfil the role of waking people up at the start of their day. The song encapsulates the meaning that while the time in space and on earth flows relatively, time itself does not flow. I wanted it to be a companion piece to my other track ‘STARS,’ which was released in October. It captures a moment paused in space and time, akin to stars lingering in the distance, depicting busy individuals as stars like in a painting.”

ID:EARTH’s new album ‘Space Station’ dissects the origin of all sounds and revolves around the theme of space-time travel. It tells the story of the phenomenon where all lives are fitted like equations, aiming to convey metaphorical messages through each song.

ID:Earth, which means “the identity of the Earth,” hails from Seoul, South Korea and made her debut in 2019 with ‘Egypt’, an experimental, cross genre pop tune which garnered immediate attention. The next single ‘Olympus’ followed swiftly and led to her acclaimed debut album [BE] in 2020. ID:EARTH’s lyrics encapsulates our relationship with the earth and human civilisation. “My music is made to be connected and pieced together like a puzzle. The lyrics are anecdotes and stories about history, myths and philosophies, it also looks into the lives of people and contains their experiences.”

ID:EARTH’s music has been featured in various Korean movies and television series and she continues to push the boundaries with her unique inimitable style in 2023.
