Tits Tats & Whiskers are always an awesome listen. Some of you may remember that we included their last album “Laugh, Dance, and Cry” in our 2015 Best Indie Albums list. And now they’re back and fresh off of their far east Asian tour in support and anticipation of their upcoming album “Cigarettes and Shame”. I caught up with Mattia D’Ambors, TT&W’s thunderous beatmaker and personal friend as we learn about where they are going with their music (hint: the direction is up) as well as what it’s like to be in a touring band in today’s world of new indie. Oh and, by the way, Mattia was kind enough to give us a sneak peek at one of the tracks off of “Cigarettes and Shame”. Enjoy!

About Tits, Tats & Whiskers:
In 2011 in Tokyo, Tits Tats & Whiskers met at artist Ponzi’s (Member of Tits, Tats & Whiskers) painting exhibition. Their mutual love of tattoos, beards, and rock music brought the band together like vagabonds in the wind to park. Jamming covers and drinking sessions inspired studio experimentation and a desire to make original material. Originally composing and performing as a fourpiece band Tits, Tats & Whiskers streamlined and became a power trio in 2012.
Tits, Tats & Whiskers are now comprised of Ponzi from USA (Guitar/Vocals), Mattia from Italy (Drum/ Percussion) and Astrid from Philippines (Bass/Vocals).
Tits, Tats & Whiskers have performed in many different venues with tons of different acts all over Japan.
After the big earthquake in 2011 the band performed in many charity events until 2012 earning tons of relief funds for the victims of that disaster. Within the past two years the band had many propositions including monthly gigs at prestigious venues in the most happening areas of Tokyo. The band also joined the Musikalawaig festival in the Philippines early this year. They are also set to tour the US and Canada in 2015.
In February 15th, 2014 Tits, Tats & Whiskers released their first Album “All The Things” independently. In February 27th, 2014 Tits, Tats & Whiskers released their new Single “Guilty Dance” independently.
Their second album, “Laugh, Dance & Cry” was released on May 16th, 2015.
Their third album “Cigarettes and Shame” comes out September 3rd, 2016.
