R E L has today released her new EP titled ‘Medicine’ via Evocapop. Evocapop is a name and genre R E L has come up with that combines and transcends evocative and pop, meaning music that makes you feel as well as think. ‘Medicine does more than that, in my opinion. It does make you feel and think, but it also inspires you to act and progress on those feelings and, to a later extent, ideas that this music brings and exposes. That’s the type of music we so desperately need more of. In a world filled with lyrics bragging about that new car, social media clout, number of sexual partners, etc., we now get an introspective look at the self and the worth we need to feel.

Set amongst a slight orchestration of music that creates an atmosphere for the mood, each track introduces itself with either a warm handshake or a sincere hug. They immerse you with love and longing and carry each lyric along, surrounding it with little sonic muses within the notes and inspiration in the melodies.

The record is about release, softening, angst, embodiment, hope, love.

Self love is the foundation of peace. So many of us, myself included, have struggled with or struggle with some form of hating self. If we hate ourselves, how can we really love another?,” shares the artist.
