A song about the fairly misguided need some parents (such as the writer of the song himself) have, to protect their children from all the mistakes they made when they were growing up. The song is taken from the album Preach which is the second album by the band following their debut Monogamy. It was recorded in between lockdowns during the COVID years and finished in 2022.

The band is the brainchild of David Goo and has Mariya Brachkova on vocals and Charlie Coulson-Smith on bass/guitar and Oli Dacombe on drums. Preach is all about the agonies and ecstasies of raising vampires, aka children. Goo describes the music as ‘Chamber Rock’ – rock music for smaller, intimate settings. Stay True is piano led and features local legend pedal steel-guitar player Joe Harvey-White.
