Brisbane’s own Jon Tibbs is unveiling his first release and taste of his project, The Bold Love. The ambient, nostalgic pop track is titled ‘Young’ and it is to be released on the 27th March through his Bandcamp account for download.

The Bold Love’s sounds stem from a love of 80’s pop production but a desire to bring a modern era approach to it – think Phil Collins’ No Jacket Required meets M83’s Hurry Up, We’re Dreaming.

This first track ‘Young’ is a sparse, float on the clouds track, featuring smooth sax and keyboard and deep bass, all held together by a vocal hook about young love.

The Bold Love is the creative pursuit of Jon Tibbs who is drawn to looping and the electronic, using a combination, keyboards, drum machines and dreamy sounds.

Tibbs, who hails from Tasmania but now calls Brisbane home, programs, plays and samples a variety of instruments to create his nostalgic ambient pop.

‘Young’ is the first cut from a debut 4 track EP due in June 2015.
