“White Noise”, the new album from bassist/vocalist Jasmine Cain is anything but white noise in my opinion. A raucous set of rock tunes with no filler, “White Noise” is something you would want to hear in a dive bar at 11PM from the headline act. One thing I must point out about Jasmine, not only is she competent and well crafted vocalist, but man can she play the bass. The bass on the album takes on an almost Paul McCartney approach to song composition by not just staying in the root note and exploring the space each song allots it. Plus the tone she uses really cuts through and gives each track a deep tone that really accentuates the already astounding final mix. My personal favs are “Hole”, “Fool’s Gold”, “Good Life”, and “Nightingale”.

This is Jasmine’s fifth album and includes members of Accept, Cinderella, Full Devil Jacket, Steel Panther, and Killer Dwarfs. “White Noise” drops July 24th.

Music City Mayhem ‘Female Rock Vocalist of the Year’ and bassist extraordinaire Jasmine Cain has been nominated for ‘Best Alternative Rock Band’ for the 9th Annual Nashville Independent Music Awards (NIMA). Celebrating the first NIMA nomination of her career, Ms. Cain professed, “Music City is packed with talented people and so to be nominated in alternative rock category in a city full of this much talent is beyond what I ever imagined. I’m truly honored.”

NIMA9 will take place at 3rd & Lindsley (818 3rd Ave S.) on Saturday August 29. Tickets for the event go on sale July 6 ($20 in advance; $30 at the door) with winners determined by fan voting who can begin ballot stuffing July 6 at http://www.nimadigital.com

The NIMA nomination highlights a breakout year for Jasmine Cain, who is set to self-release her 5th studio album, White Noise, on Friday July 24. Produced by Lincoln Parish, former guitarist for Cage The Elephant, the 11-track opus is chock full of fist-pumping anthems, irresistible melodies and heartfelt ballads. Modern rocker “Break Even” roars out of the gate as the album’s first single with motley riff-rocker “Coming In Hot” primed to explode at rock radio. Elsewhere, “Nightingale, “Into the Grey” and “Any Given Sunday” deliver scintillating big chorus bravado while album closer “Fall to Rise,” a duet with Ralph Saenz (better known as Michael Starr of Steel Panther), showcases Jasmine’s undeniable ability to effectuate emotional urgency.

In addition to Starr, White Noise features contributions from bassist Kevin Bebout (Full Devil Jacket), drummer Christopher Williams (of Accept), guitarists Jeff LaBar (of Cinderella), Gerry Finn (of Killer Dwarfs), Jeff Caughron (Full Devil Jacket/Every Mother’s Nightmare), Kenny Greenberg (Gretchen Wilson/Kenny Chesney) and Peruvian axemaster Charlie Parra (M.A.S.A.C.R.E./Kobra and the Lotus).

In addition to an appearance at NIMA, Jasmine Cain will support her album release throughout 2015 with a record release show at Exit/In on August 24 and tour dates across the U.S., including 12 shows at the 75th Annual Sturgis Motorcycle Rally in Sturgis, SD, a week’s worth of concerts at the Warwick Bass Camp in Markneukirchen, Germany, and performances at the Myrtle Beach Fall Rally in Murrells Inlet, SC, Biketoberfest in Daytona Beach, FL and the Lone Star Rally in Galveston, TX. Endorsed by Epiphone Guitars, Kramer Guitars, Warwick Basses, Traynor Bass Amplification, GHS Strings, In-Tune Guitar Picks, and Line 6 Wireless, Cain has amassed a rabid worldwide fanbase, playing 1200+ shows/festivals over the past decade.
