UK Hardcore-Hophop band Broken Chakra pay homage to 80s cult movies with new video ‘Survival’
British politically-charged hiphop-punkers BROKEN CHAKRA have released their brand new video ‘Survival’. Featuring an action packed narrative of female street fighting to huge riffs and rapid fire vocals, this is a must watch for all who love classic metallic hardcore and 80s cult movies.
The band states:
“A mash up of 80s cult movies and Hip Hop aesthetics, is in essence the video for Broken Chakra’s Survival of the Fittest. The Warriors meets Mad Max to cause some serious Van Dammage. Led by director Will Wright, this homage drew on the talent of fight choreographer Leon Sui and endurance of cast and crew to get through a thoroughly cold and miserable night shoot in winter. Nothing worthwhile is ever easy, and delays due to a training injury to a cast members, and last minute location change is testament to that.”
As veterans of the underground, Broken Chakra are a band of players from numerous hardcore, metal and hip-hop bands with carriers spanning the last two decades. This project takes things back to what they all love: heavy riffing, big grooves and aggressive rap. Over the past year the band have been building a firm following on the UK hardcore circuit playing with the likes of Knuckledust, No Second Chance, Malevolence and many more. Check social media for shows as many more are to be announced soon.
