The Dead and the Downright Queer is a one-girl alternative/shoegaze project. Songs are designs to feel overwhelming in dreamy and fuzzy sonic tones. All tracks are written, recorded, and produced by The Dead and the Downright Queer in her North London Studio apartment. She likes to wear different headgear and be odd.
Two Suffering Eyes was written in and released in the early Summer of 2021, this song is inspired by fuzzy shoegaze grit heard in My Bloody Valentine and Ringo Deathstarr tracks. This track is a burst of distorted but melodic guitar with ethereal but distant vocals, with a breakdown reminiscent of The Smashing Pumpkins’ Rocket.
