When we open up that door, who is it that we really can’t live without? Sometimes when we see it clearly, it’s not actually clear. Sometimes, when we look into the eyes of our significant others, the only thing we’d like to see is in their soul. Let’s stand together, gaze into the sun, and hold our hands in hope, that tomorrow is a better day. Check out what Arika Kane had to say in our interview.
What do you think distinguishes a true music artist from an entertainer?
An entertainer primarily focuses on connecting with performing specifically for the public, where a true music artist is usually involved in every facet of their music from writing, creating & designing.
If you could make 1 change to the music industry, what would it be?
Together, allow sales and fans to dictate their music. This is the music industry. It was once run this way, and should continue to operate this way. It’s a place that can’t be bought in views, but views that can be brought to generate a real buzz. Real views generating real buzz, equals publicity that can’t be bought, but publicity that can be brought.
What do you want Arika Kane to always be remembered for?
“For being an independent pioneer and a woman of “substance”‘
What made you want to pursue a career in music?
My parents introduced me to music, and the healing power it embodies is what inspired me to pursue it as my career.
What advice would you give a music artist who is just starting out?
Create your vision and stay true to it, align yourself in business only with those who support your vision and with whom you are able trust.
How are you feeling about the success of Thru the Veil?
“Extremely excited!”
It is reaching great heights on the Amazon Charts like #1 in The R&B Albums and #5 in The Pop Albums. I’m so grateful for my fans that are supporting me 😉
What types of obstacles have you faced?
Being an Independent artist has always been my biggest obstacle in terms of not being accepted in major platforms. Therefore, I cannot be as visible to the world or my fans as I would like.
How did you overcome them?
I usually have no choice but to create the platforms that I need. I also work very creatively to stay connected, and with my fans through internet & social media, I am able to do so.
