Born and raised in Canada, Carmin was surrounded by music from a very young age. Inspired music of Etta James, Billie Holiday and Ella Fitzgerald, she emulated their soulful and insightful vocals to train develop her own. Carmin soon developed an assertive confidence and unmistakable emotion which allows her to deeply connect to her audiences. Her spine-tingling vocal power positively stirs live performances and her gospel roots are always evident in her soulful tone. Carmin writes her own original songs, and accompanies herself on piano. Her vocals have a rare mix of soul, delicate clarity, and aggressive emotion. She currently resides in Manhattan, and continues to perform in and out of the studio.
