As much musical brothers as bandmates, Eugene Gardner and Daniel Tyler grew up learning how to play guitar together. They have been collaborating for over a decade, even though they are in their early twenties. Their styles, though distinct, were developed in partnership with each other through years of shared bands and musical experiences. Eugene, also an accomplished drummer, learned the value of musical partnership in his basement watching his dad’s band rehearse weekly. Daniel, coming from generations of musicians had the opportunity to learn from his uncle Rhett, the iconic blues guitarist.
After Eugene graduated from the music program at SUNY Oneonta, and Daniel graduated from the University of Vermont, they decided to work on a new project, seeking out Marc Jaffee who had produced some of their previous work, and had acted as a mentor since they were young teens. Upon hearing the quality of songs they were writing, Jaffee committed to them as producer, manager and record label, and they recorded the debut album, Eugene Tyler Band.
Since the album’s release, Eugene Tyler Band has been packing local venues with their acoustic duo performances, and breaking out as a strong regional act.
