Having a love and addiction for music from a young age, Gregory Michael Hathorn has been writing and recording on guitar since he was 12 years old. It wasn’t until he picked up a gig playing with a jazz ensemble that his musical horizons really began to open up. Performing with the group for over 4 years, Hathorn found a lot of growth and development as a musician during that time and has applied to this songwriting ever since.
Upon leaving home to attend Arizona State College in pursuit of an engineering degree, the songwriter found his resources to be much more limited and had trouble making too much noise without it affecting his relationships with roommates or even getting evicted. This is when he decided to take the digital route. Though it worked at first, he quickly realized it was a mistake.
After realizing some hard truths, he knew his songs were written on acoustic, for acoustic, and stuck with it. Songs About Getting a Real Job is much more of a testament to where he is at with his sound right now.
