Kirsten Collins was born and raised in Calgary, Alberta and was able to sing full songs right on key from the age of 20 months. Her parents realized early on that there was something special about her and at the age of 5, she sang her first solo and fell in love with the stage.
Kirsten continued singing and at the age of 9 was fronting adult bands at professional events. She went on to win the Calgary Junior Idol and opened for the SHAI Awards at 10, in addition to performing at many festivals, competitions, award, and talent shows throughout Canada and the United States. At age 14, Kirsten’s parents took her to Los Angeles to meet with top voice coaches who recognized and encouraged her talent.
Over the last few years, Kirsten has had the opportunity to work and record with many songwriters and producers, including Grammy winners from around the world. In 2009, she also acted in her first role in an independent film titled Rust (Sony/Affirm Films). Her original song, ‘Could You Imagine’ was featured in the film and from there received several offers from music labels, movie producers and has been featured in international publications but decided to remain independent.
Kirsten was awarded the title of Miss Teen Calgary in 2012/2013 and was a contestant in the Miss Teen Canada – World pageant in July. Kirsten stated, “I believe that the platform of Miss Teen can help me in the development of my character, building relationships within my family, looking to better my own city, helping to make changes in my nation and having a passion to impact the world. I personally feel that I am being stretched as an individual in the areas of administration, communication, and expression. The platform that I have chosen is to expose the many social injustices that affect children around the world. Like human trafficking and slavery. I believe that all people deserve to be treated with respect and honor. Together we can make a difference in our world!”
Kirsten’s continued desire is to reach the world with her voice, and impact others’ lives with song. To help each and every single person embrace their gifting’s, talents, characteristics as well as their beauty and to encourage a hope and spread LOVE all around the world.
