Mr.Mac is a singer-songwriter whose sensibilities range from folk to blues, hard rock,and psychedelia.The songs on his album ShadowBox are characterized by lush acoustic guitar,adorned with cello,violin,and other instrumental improvisations.
Dan McLauglin, AKA “Mr. Mac” is the product of a multi-cultural upbringing in Honolulu, Hawaii. Influenced by his brother Slewfoot’s New Orleans street blues (Slewfoot’s Music can be found on http://www.cdbaby.com/cd/slewfoot2). Mr. Mac continues to find inspiration in the endless varieties and genres of music from around the world. He began to write music Portland, where his first gigs were with free-jazz artist Stan Wood (Stan Wood’s album “Vibraband Trio” can be found on iTunes: https://itunes.apple.com/us/album/vibraband-trio/id885613865).
While he still continues to have an interest in experimental and New Age music, he finds the challenges of songwriting to be rewarding, fun, and a justification for his BA in English.
