Shivan is a singer/songwriter, performer, recording artist, and producer who makes indie pop and alternative music, drawing heavy inspiration from Ed Sheeran, Charlie Puth, Lewis Capaldi, Thomas Rhett, John Mayer, and many others. His approach to songwriting is to always write from the heart – to speak in poetry that is decipherable to anyone, applicable to many variations on a common human theme, and with a sincere attempt to bear the soul of his music without boundaries.
Shivan grew up in Davis, CA and went to college in Berkeley, CA. He then went to UCLA for a Ph.D. in neuroscience, which he completed in 2018, and continues to live in LA where he works as a researcher in neurobiology and performs year-round at bars, venues, restaurants, wineries, weddings, parties, and charity events. He is also constantly working on new music in his home studio and loves to collaborate with other artists.
