About ‘Where Do We Go From Here?’

R&B duo KINGZMN make their return with ‘Where Do We Go From Here?’. Showcasing their stunning lyricism and sensual vocals, the Canada based duo have been carving out their place in the industry since their 2018 debut. With support from industry tastemakers such as We Rave You, Your EDM and Surviving the Golden Age they have also amassed millions of streams across Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube and more.

Hailing from London, Canada; KINGZMN is comprised of Zanna Alishahi & Thien Nguyen. The duo have always shared a love for dance music and R&B which led to them coming together in 2015 to form KINGZMN. After years of experimenting with dance music, KINGZMN later decided to incorporate their love for R&B into their music, which turned that groovy dance sound that they were known for into a melodic, sexy style of music that invokes emotion into their listeners.

Equal parts nostalgic throwback and futuristic daydreaming, KINGZMN are fast becoming an unstoppable force in 2021. Their signature sound has captured the attention of critics and fans alike. Their previous releases have racked up more than 3 million streams on Spotify and they have also received praise from We Rave You and Your EDM.

About KINGZMN

KINGZMN use past life experiences to fuel their emotions when writing their music. They believe everyone goes through similar struggles in life, and that music is a gateway for people’s emotions.

Speaking more on the release of ‘Where Do We Go From Here?’, KINGZMN go on to explain:

‘Night time drives with neon lights is a visual that is engraved in our heads when writing and creating this album. We really want listeners to immerse themselves into the world that we have created. One of the biggest challenges we had while creating our debut album was letting go of people’s expectations and writing about things that were true to us. Creating this album, we learned to let ourselves become vulnerable and truly express our thoughts. We both grew up on dance music and R&B and have always had a love for these two specific genres. Our lead single on this album “For the Night” draws inspirations from iconic hits “Return of the Mack” & “Juicy Fruit”, combining the drum elements from those two songs and melodic elements from Bryson Tiller.’

Featuring on the album is the leading single ‘Second Guessing’, a track written about failing friendships and the feeling that even your closest friends are starting to lose faith in you. Sonically, the track is inspired by the likes of Drake and Jack Harlow. KINGZMN’s clever and insightful lyricism demonstrates the confident performers they’ve become, speaking more on ‘Second Guessing’, the duo stated:

‘This single was mainly written about how we were feeling in the moment, having friends/peers doubt you in your musical journey can sometimes bring you down, but it also opens your eyes to the reality of how the world works. People aren’t always gonna be supporting you especially when you’re on the come up, there will always be people who pretend to show you love but doubt your every move until the time when supporting you benefits them. The day you succeed is the day everybody wants to be your best friend but when times were tough, you were always on your own.’

KINGZMN look to 2021 with positive energy as it’s set to be a huge year for the collective. With their sights set on the stratosphere and ‘Where Do We Go From Here?’ set to drop on August 27th, we’re expecting big things from KINGZMN this year.
