‘Wasted Time’ is the debut single from E.M. Kane, produced by Ali Robertson. It’s a huge vocal led ballad about the fine lines between love and lust, identity and sexuality. Wanting very much to love someone emotionally as much as inti lately, but struggling to E.M. was hugely inspired by Margaret Glaspy, Maggie Rogers and Alabama Shakes
when writing this, wanting to capture real vulnerability in simplicity. The song follows a classic structure but with a completely original feel. ‘Wasted Time’ came out of an informal weekly songwriting challenge E.M. had with their musician
friend during the pandemic, to try and keep their passion alive in a time where it was nearly impossible. The theme that week? Lust.
