The Anthem have released their new video for “Like You’re James Dean”. The song is an anthemic (see what I did there?) power-pop/rock anthem (I did it again) with all of the hooks today’s modern rock connoisseur would expect and demand. The Anthem are really on to something with their latest and are clearly taking their skillset to the next level. Let’s hope this is a preview of the summer to come.
“The song is about those people who only care about appearance and act like they are better than the rest, but who have nothing special to offer,” bassist/vocalist Paolo Notarsanti said in an interview with Myspace.com. “The video was very fun to shoot, my favourite part is when we grab the guns and shoot the poor guy (those were real shotguns, it’s was a very dangerous moment and we didn’t use stuntmen!).”
“Like You’re James Dean” is taken from the band’s sophomore album “In It To Win It”, released last June and available on iTunes.
