Michigan-based vocalist, songwriter, and guitarist Jon-Paul Bakaric will release his debut solo record, The Reign Of The New Me Pt. 1, on November 4, 2014. Using the aptly named moniker, Bakaric, Jon-Paul assumes the role of frontman after spending years as a founding member of Detroit bands Strange Vacation, The Boys Of Summer, and That Was Something.

“This is an album for anyone who has ever reached rock bottom and had to reinvent themselves, piece by piece, brick by brick, day by day,” says Bakaric. The EP is the first of a two-part release, and includes the first single, “Surrender,” which features former bandmate, Josh Waldorf.

Jon-Paul produced the record and will release the companion EP, The Reign Of The New Me Pt. 2, in early 2015.

About Jon-Paul Bakaric:
Bakaric is a new solo project from songwriter and producer Jon-Paul Bakaric. The act will release its debut, The Reign Of The New Me, on November 4, 2014. The EP, which perfectly fuses elements of rock, alternative, electronic, pop, and house music, is the first solo release by the founding member of Strange Vacation, That Was Something, and The Boys of Summer. Jon-Paul wrote and self-produced the effort at Night Light Audio Productions, his project studio in Detroit, Michigan.

“The album focuses on a journey through Hell and back, where the main character endures a demanding emotional and spiritual transformation. A true coming of age story, “The Reign Of The New Me” begins in a very dark abyss, and evolves into a story of reincarnation, passion, and love,” says Jon-Paul. “This is an album for anyone who has ever reached rock bottom and had to reinvent themselves, piece by piece, brick by brick, day by day.” The EP is the first of a two-part release, and includes the first single, “Surrender,” featuring former bandmate Josh Waldorf.

Jon-Paul has toured coast-to-coast in the U.S. with his bands That Was Something, The Boys of Summer, and Strange Vacation. “The road is a relentless and often unforgiving experience, but essential to understanding art and life,” he says. “It helps you comprehend the unique dynamics of collective band members as well as their individual artistic needs. Music is passion, art, emotion, creativity, an explosion of thought, and work.”

In addition to his career as a recording artist, Jon-Paul is currently focusing his energy on developing individual singers, songwriters, and entertainers. Over the past decade, he has gained an extensive knowledge of audio engineering, production, composition, marketing, and managing art and artists. He elaborates, “It is crucial for an artist to see their ultimate vision come to life. I want to provide artists with a fruitful and creative environment that is tooled with sound design, composition, and marketing strategies. My mission is to breathe life into the artist’s vision, which is discovered through layered sound production and creative songwriting.”
