Union Kain is set to drop their new album titled ‘Black Dawn’ on July 18, 2020. Partly an homage to the classic metal sound that most new bands never get right, and partly a band that gets that classic metal sound just right, Union Kain captures a magical moment in time and makes it the present with each and every track with their own style and originality uniting the harsh compressed Soldano style guitars with a harsh vocal range fit for Headbanger’s Ball. Brilliant!
About Union Kain
A chance meeting took place in 2016 when Brizzy Dee answered a local advertisement seeking a drummer with a diverse set of skills. Upon arrival, Brizzy was introduced to Kain, and their playing styles instantly gelled. Within a couple of months, Brizzy and Kain decided to strike out on their own. Initially writing music as a duo, most of the songs on the band’s initial album, Black Dawn were written. Brizzy and Kain then set out to find the much needed missing pieces to their puzzle.
Taking a long shot, Kain reviewed online ads in search of another guitarist. Not just any guitarist, one with charisma and raw power. And then Jay the Worst was found. Like catching lightning in a bottle, Jay fits the need. Next, the bottom end was needed. Where to find a Bass player though? Jay was on it and out of nowhere, Big $ appeared and perfectly rounded out the bands sound. Finally, a search for the vocalist. Such a daunting endeavor. Lots of great talent came through, yet in the end, stood Glazergirl, a vocalist with a unique sound and extreme performance. Union Kain is a unity of like-minded souls in the pursuit of delivering a unique unified sound.

‘Battles Within’
The internal fights we have within us–climbing out of the darkness into the light. It could be viewed as a fight with depression, or internal battles of good versus evil, of fear and accomplishment. Eventually, we all hope to conquer those internal battles—letting go and winning with the self.
‘Black Dawn’
The story of what we as people could become post-apocalypse. Suddenly children are adults and pets are what we need on which to feed. Every day is a new black dawn, sunless in both skies and in our hearts. To defend the heart is a day to day battle. It is a coldness that seeps into our bones as we try to survive—like a phoenix rising from the ashes.
‘Lake of Fire’
Represents the reality of the scope of dire consequence and internal turmoil and desire within the world of drug addiction. Wanting to escape drug addiction, the need for “one more time”, the knowledge of where it really brings you, the chance one takes that one could die at that moment—these are the realities of the stories told by friends and acquaintances who have tried over and over to beat the need for drugs—in this case, more specifically cocaine. This is NOT a glorification of drugs but our sharing of the terrible sadness that goes with how many people we know and have known that are still in the grips of or have lost to the addictions.
‘Persistence’
What we have to have to do to overcome all that keeps us down. It reflects the importance of a belief system that we can be greater than we are and achieve no matter the costs or what others may say or do to “keep us down”. And with persistence, with counting on the self, we prevail.

What music could represent for other people. People who may choose to skip the futile, fantastic ideas and pursue the realities of day to day work, trying to just get by humbly. For Union Kain, music is not a Plan B—it is our Plan A. We are all successful in our own right, but our souls are pulled into this love and passion of music and performance. We offer Plan B to draw the masses into our love and passion for the rock n roll lifestyle. The freedom it represents. And the passion can be whatever one pursues that holds your heart as this does ours. Plan B is a shout out of brightness among the dark songs of the album.
‘The Master’
Simply reads as the Union Kain version of the retelling of the story of Cane and Abel from the many perspectives of the Old Testament —from both Christianity and Judaism. It is a story we enjoyed as children in Sunday school and for whom part of our band name is taken. Does the question lie with who is The Master? The devil, the serpent, Lilith or Eve — or, is it all the same?
‘Waiting for the World to End’
Originally written with the intent of expressing how we as people would not even know the world was ending as we are only nose-deep into our technology behind the world of cellphones and computers. We’ve stopped talking to each other, we don’t look at each other. We only know what we see on the internet. We live a false life and the world and life speeds by us—unaware how our actions and inaction are destroying everything—from the family connection to real-life experiences we miss out on. Fast forward to COVID-19—suddenly we are reconnecting, rebuilding, families are more in-tune with each other. The mechanisms of work, pressure, technology is pushed aside as we get back to basics.
‘Your Own Kind’
This suggests what our mothers may have told us about birds of a feather hanging together and the results of those actions and inactions. Getting away from the “naysayers” who do us wrong in word or physically–pushing away those who are negative, who pulls us into hatred, in order to achieve the positive. Acknowledging that we know what those persons are about and that they should stick with each other. Knowing that on the inside, we are stronger than dirt and cannot be pushed anymore—and showing them what we can do.
