1. Visions Jack Wakeman & The Dreamstriders 3:47

A medieval bard who’s got lost in time and space only to find himself in the 21st century delving into a forgotten past of mysticism, folklore and fairytales to create music of the future. A high voltage neon tapestry weaving together pieces of the past and visions of tomorrow, a sunset disco in a stone circle, sonic heathenry at its finest, a cosmic renaissance man who’s perpetual search for self and sound has no end.

Born in Doncaster Yorkshire Jack spent his childhood listening to the sounds of the 60s and 70s on his grandparents radio, his grandad having been in a band with Mick Ronson teaching Jack the basics of guitar and through his teens Jack would hide himself away everyday after school learning to play the various instruments laying around in his their garage.

Working in a furniture factory and disillusioned with the lack of opportunities Jack left the former mining town and moved to Manchester in 2013 where he worked as a session bassist for members of New Order and The Fall plus BC Camplight, Ethan & The Reformation, Granfalloon, Gabrielles Wish, Maddy Storm and more.

After falling in love with the highlands, lowlands and stories of Scotland Jack relocated to Glasgow in 2020 to form the first band under his own name and after recruiting a band of local musicians his material is now brought to a live audience with the help of The Dreamstriders: Callum Edwards (Drums), Callum Shanks (Electric Guitar), Charlotte Newman (Acoustic Guitar/ Backing Vocals) and Marianne Leizzle (Keyboards/ Backing vocals).

Often described as charismatic and eccentric, Jack’s character comes from an ongoing battle with mental illness overcome mostly by the creation of his own music, his writing often focusing on his apocalyptic optimism, societal standpoints and determined betterment of mental health, often through the lens of folklorish romanticism.
