Johnny’s releases are “Solo albums in their purest form”. On all Six albums, Johnny actually plays all the instruments and does all the vocals. Johnny Reed calls his one-man band “The Johnny Reed Show”. Fortress of One is being called a Rockin’ Pink Floyd concept album because of the depth of the messages & the music. The 2017 release of Fortress of One coincides with the 50th anniversary of the Beatles Sgt. Peppers album released in 1967. Johnny was first inspired to play all the instruments by Paul McCartney’s first solo album “McCartney”. The Beatles road manager Mal Evans befriended Johnny and encouraged his career, saying Johnny reminded him of Paul in in his vocal textures and diversity of writing styles.

Johnny’s first 2 albums “Rock With an ATTITUDE” & “We Only Came to Rock”, was Hard Driving Rock, as frontman for his eccentric group, “RAWK DAWG.

Johnny’s New direction, Pop Rock, channels the emotion of classic rock greats like Paul McCartney, The Rolling Stones, Crosby Stills & Nash, Pink Floyd, David Bowie, Elton John and Phil Collins, with the philosophic consciousness of Bob Dylan.

On “Fortress of One”, Johnny stretches his musical wings further and flies through relationships, social issues, and life’s challenges. Johnny’s own life challenges inspire him to write about life, as Johnny’s daughter suffered a Traumatic Brain Injury as the result of an auto accident.

Johnny records in his own studio, THE MUSIC ROOM®, in Redondo Beach, CA , where he has also done the Voice of KING KONG for Universal Pictures®/Peter Jackson, been a consultant to James Cameron for ‘Titanic’, as well as created hundreds of other unique audio/visual projects for major entertainment companies.
