91875-Album_Art.jpgLuke Jon Shearer is a multi-instrumentalist and solo artist from Newcastle, Australia. To date he has released two albums with Sydney band Temple Of Sorrow in which his stamp on the band’s sound was dramatic and immediate through his creation of beautiful, Spacious walls of sound. 2013 saw Luke enter the studio under he’s full birth name to record his debut solo album as well as head out on tour for the first time as a solo artist.

Accompanied by a 3 piece band Luke travelled to all of Australia’s major cities including Hobart and Launceston for the first time of his career. Buoyed by the success of this tour Luke then ventured to the United States for a 10 show tour which included playing at the world famous Whiskey A Go-Go as part of the Sunset Strip Music Festival.

Head lining tours of New Zealand, Japan and Thailand then followed. 2013 also saw Luke tour India for the first time to take part in the annual GOMAD Festival. August 2014 saw Luke do a run of headline shows in South Africa including a performance at South Africa’s OppiKoppi Festival as well as release the song ‘Fearless’, The second single from his debut solo release. On the back of releasing album ‘Close Your Eyes, Open Your Mind’ worldwide via newly formed Australian label Dark Poet Records in September, Luke Jon Shearer and band will be busier than ever with a 40 plus date Australian tour and subsequent World tour to be announced in Support of the Album.

Driven by a catchy drum beat, Waves of piano, Distorted guitar and with Luke’s emotional vocal delivery, Peace On Earth, The first single to be lifted off ‘Close your eyes, Open your mind’ and the accompanying video received International Appraise and Airplay through a vast number of Digital, Indie and Mainstream avenues including Triple M in Australia and K Rock in the United States. Karen Mitchell, Director of Dark Poet Records and Productions describes debut single Peace on Earth as ‘A beautiful song from a brilliant talent’. Newest Single titled ‘Fearless’ is described by Luke himself as having a more ‘Positive vibe lyrically’.

As for what to expect from one of Luke Jon Shearer’s live shows, Brock Stokes who is part of the team at Dark Poet Production’s says, ‘Luke Jon Shearer’s live shows are both sonically and visually amazing. Ebbing and flowing from one beautiful space to the next you will be left feeling mesmerised in the most peaceful of states’. 2015 will see Luke tour extensively Internationally with tours of Asia, Europe, New Zealand, Japan and The United States in the scheduling. Aside from this Luke will also record the follow up album to Close Your Eyes, Open Your Mind as well as a number of other musical projects he is working on.
