98224-Small_Change_RomeosAfter a 5 year hiatus the members of longtime San Francisco Rock Band Small Change Romeos are gearing up to release their 4th studio album and follow it up with a number of Northern California shows this summer.

The album, entitled ‘Mystery Sings’ is a solid collection of material from sessions that span several years in the studio. It is arguably their most provocative and strongest record to date with songs that cover a broad range of styles from Roots Rock to Blues to Alternative.

The Small Change Romeos is a prolific and exciting musical outfit led by Singer Songwriters Chris James and Mike Ruy. A rhythm section tour du force backs them with Matt Berg on drums, and AJ Leighton on bass. Keyboardist, and upcoming artist in own right John Patterson, fills out the band’s eclectic sound.

The Romeos have been developing their craft for several years, both on stage and in the studio, creating a musical synergy between them that is undeniable. Being songwriters first, rock n’ rollers second, their multi-layered, contagious songs rally up audiences to follow them through emotionally stirred performances.

“SCR is a real rock band. They bring to mind an edgy, dynamic and classic sound that is missing in so much of today’s music. Great songwriting and awesome onstage performance and energy…” Working with them both on the stage and in the studio has always been a pleasure and an incredible experience…” -Phil Bennett, Starship

In 2007 through 2009 their album “Fool’s Gold” attracted the attention of the majors and the band was able to secure a music placement contract with Gotham Records out of NYC. The record featured a host of talented musical guests including; Dave Rude (Tesla), J Bowman of (Spearhead) and Phil Bennett (Starship). Additionally, the Small Change Romeos have had plays on many West Coast radio stations including 107.7 The Bone, 91.1 KMUD, 90.1 Pirate Cat FM, and KGO 810 AM. They have also had music featured in commercials seen on various TV stations including CNN, and they have been broadcast on XM SIRIUS satellite radio as well as various other Internet stations. They have also been a featured act on the ongoing Comcast television show SF Sound. In 2005, the track “Not Like This” was chosen to be part of the SAUZA “LIVE ALL SUMMER” compilation CD that distributed 40,000 copies nationwide. The Romeo’s video and song “01.20.09” can be seen on a number of “call for change” websites including BushsLastDay.com and was one of Bruce Springsteen’s personal picks for a playlist on E STREET SIRIUS RADIO. Together they have played hundreds of live shows and have done a number of corporate events for companies including KOHLER, and NET SUITE.
