Daily Dose: The Empire Associates – The Old Gods
A harmony of souls and melodies interlaced with lyrics that explore melancholy and ageless character. The Empire Associates transport you to a time where stories traveled in songs. Through their folk music, The Empire Associates inspire, captivate, and most importantly, entertain.
A powerful husband and wife duo, Terrance and Kelsi, have been performing and making music together since before they were even married.
Hailing from Melville, SK, Kelsi Kerestesh has grown up with musical influences such as The Beatles, Donovan, and Crowded House. Kelsi was thrown into the wonderful world of music from a young age as it was evident she had a natural talent for singing. Excelling in her music lessons and participating with her school’s band and choir, Kelsi’s talents only enriched with time.
Terrance Williamson, born and raised in Regina, SK has been writing and performing music as far back as he can remember. Terrance draws inspiration for his music from bands such as The National, Fleet Foxes, and Mumford & Sons.
When Terrance and Kelsi met it was only natural that their talents should fuse into a creative array of making and performing music that matters, inspires, and captivates.
Together they have released three albums. “In Times of Trouble” was their first EP containing original hits as well as classic covers such as “Sound of Silence” and “I’ve Just Seen A Face.” Their second album “What We Are Made of” was their first full-length album. Their latest album, “The Legacy of Light” contains sixteen songs of a healthy mix of fan favourites of originals and covers.
Kelsi and Terrance are proud to call SK their home and have performed almost exclusively within the province. From venues in Regina, Moose Jaw, Saskatoon, Swift Current, and many other locations around the province they have gained a dedicated and growing following of the best fans that could be asked for.
