Via Ripa began in the summer of 2019 when guitarist/vocalist only known as Mystery Mike and guitarist Matt Smentkowski got together with bassist Sean Cuddy to begin playing together.
Soon after, drummer Nick Marinelli joined and the lineup was complete. Writing and recording the Via Ripa EP during the winter months of 2019 took up the focus of the group until Feb 2020 when they began to perform live.
