Ferge X Fisherman has today released their new video for the track titled ‘Reality’, with a little help from Takuya Kuroda and Black Milk.
Laid back yet in control is that feeling you get with that first listen. Think smooth jazz club with invited special friends on the stage for an impromptu jam while you’re sipping a Remy Martin and puffing on a Davidoff.
Add to that the suave dose of reality you get with the video for ‘Reality’ and you have an interesting take on the trials and tribulations of basic life in this world. What more could you ask for?
The album ‘Duality’, which includes ‘Reality’, drops April 1st.
For Reality, the Jazz Hip Hop combo teamed up with Japanese Jazz sensation Takuya Kuroda and Detroit rapper Black Milk for this gem. The track sits perfectly in between Jazz and Hip Hop, combining the best of both worlds.
Smooth trumpet licks, and a virtuoso solo on a buttery warm production meet clever, introspective lyrics. The song is mainly about the perception of reality and how it is effected by privilege, origin and peers.
A must-listen for Hip Hop and Jazz fans.
‘Reality’ is the second single to drop ahead of their studio album ‘Duality’, which is out Friday 1st April.
‘Duality’ is an equal measure of rap and jazz, containing electronically produced beats and live instrumentation. Lyrically reflective yet totally unreserved, with some incredible features including Detroit rapper Black Milk, Japanese jazz trumpeter and Blue Note artist Takuya Kuroda, New Zealand soul singer Noah Slee, and South African singer Hunter Rose.
The Hip Hop/Jazz band Ferge X Fisherman demonstrate how impressively and elegantly the balancing act between electronically produced hip hop and live instruments can succeed. They combine the best of both worlds and make their music a dynamic, varied pleasure for the listener, which does not lose its attraction even after repeated listening.
The eclectic mix up of hip hop, jazz, rap and soul defines their sound since their first release in 2018. The Nürnberg, Germany based duo has made crowds from Vienna to Berlin multi task dancing and lyric appreciation. With the Lakesideboys as their jazz/liveband they brought their unique sound and vibe to festivals and venues all over Germany and are now about to release their debut album Blinded By The Neon.
