Blessed-Child-Opera-Head-ShotBlessed Child Opera is a project started in 2001 by the will of Paolo Messere in the wake of his earlier musical experiences: one as a singer and guitarist of the noise band Silken Barb (an album for the Free Land Records of Catania, distr. Wide, excellent results of critical and an important recognition in the book “Post Rock” by Eddy Cilia and Stefano Isidoro Bianchi), and the one with the famous French band Ulan Bator, with which Paolo Messere took part, as a guitarist and keyboardist, the three tour promoting the album”Ego Echo.”

After these important experiences Paolo Messere decided to form the Blessed Child Opera, finally giving voice and form to one of its main sources of inspiration: The song writing overseas. A few months after birth B.C.O. released their first s / t album under the artistic supervision of Amaury Cambuzat of Ulan Bator. The album was released shortly after in America for the LOUD DUST RECORDINGS / BMI and received enthusiastic acclaim – the reviews speak of post folk – by Italian and foreign press.

During 2003 the training of BCO takes on a more classic rock. Paolo Messere (guitar and vocals)is flanked by Enzo Onorato (guitars), Raffaele Di Somma (bass, ex Silken Barb) and Claudio Marino (drums of 99 Posse Bisca, E ‘Zezi). In November 2004, was released the second album, “Looking After The Child”: the result is extraordinary, including sharp post-rock, melancholy folk influences . In the album there are important guests from the worlds of contemporary classical: Marco Pezzenati (first drummer), Giovanni Giugliano (bass player), Fabio Centurion (cello) – all part of the Teatro San Carlo in Naples – and the soprano Carmen D’Onofrio (former lead singer of the Argine and now playing in the Maisie).

After another change of formation which saw the arrival of David Fusco (Trees, Sleepless, Idiot Boy) on drums, Francesco Candia (Trees) on guitar and Michele Santoro (RUA) on bass, the band is preparing for the construction of the third album that sees the light in September 2006. While following in the footsteps of previous “Happy Ark” (the title of the disc) shows a cut perhaps more accessible to the general public always linked to a feverish attention to the sound quality and to the originality of the compositions.

“We Can’t Be Rivals Of God” is the new single off of the upcoming album “The Devil & The Ghosts Dissolved” coming in August on Custom Made Music.
