About John Dhali
John Dhali is an Indie Soul artist with a fiery presence, a rare depth of understanding and a knack for writing incredibly catchy tunes.

“Music is the expression of my true Self. I believe it can have the power to remind people of who they really are. This is my intention – I write about ‘Self-Realization’ and want to bring this idea into popular culture through music. I want to make people happy.”

Musical Influences come in all shapes and sizes, including John Lennon, Bob Marley, Jeff Buckley, Nina Simone, The Waterboys, Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros, Radiohead, Nick Drake, John Martyn and Jimi Hendrix. The real fuel behind Dhali’s songs, however, is found in his own personal story of transformation and his love of Hindu philosophy.

Hearing his music for the first time has been likened to ‘welcoming an old friend’, instantly familiar melodies, profound lyricism and a soaring vocal combine to form a magical musical medicine for the soul.

The release of John’s Debut EP (‘John Dhali EP’) in October 2015 saw him burst onto his local scene and find loyal backing from BBC INTRODUCING STOKE – . John was subsequently voted ‘Best Solo Act’ in the ‘Music Awards of Staffordshire and Cheshire 2016’ – a title he recently retained at this year’s awards. His songs have featured on both BBC RADIO 1 (Huw Stevens) and BBC RADIO 2 (Jo Wiley).

Consistently leaving audiences inspired and uplifted, John has gigged extensively in his beloved Northwest and further afield, even reaching as far as India and Thailand to share his music! His live performance is truly captivating – full of passion and honesty with a soulfulness that somehow finds its way into the deepest reaches of your being.

2017 is already looking like a big year, seeing the release of his previous single ‘Only One’ receiving critical acclaim from across the UK. The track, a joyous number, twinned with a bold music video of John himself dancing freely inside the gray walls of Manchester’s Piccadilly Station, has been met with huge popularity and earned John yet another regional award.
