1. The Light Around You Lover 3:30

Lover create electro music inspired by morbid longing and the urge to explore the kind of life more commonly found within literature, where dissatisfaction is bohemian and beauty lies in darkness.

The band has been together in their current form since January this year – four members came together through another project before finding lead singer, Sarah, on BandMix, falling in love with her strong and crystal clear vocals immediately. Sarah had only had a presence on BandMix for a week, joining because she wanted 2016 to be the year that changed her life. With five members in place, guitarist John joined to make six and the band was complete.

The band entered the studio with songs written by current and former band members together with a range of collaborators, one of which, Terry Edwards, is a member of PJ Harvey’s live a studio band. Terry guests on two songs on Lover’s forthcoming album ‘Human Geography’.

After wrapping the album, the band went on the road supporting the UK leg of the Earl Slick / Bernard Fowler Station to Station tour. They play Lytham Festival in August as a main support for Heaven 17.

“The Gossip are heard in their new single with the strong vocals of Sarah emphasising the band’s attitude against The Ramones-like guitar sounds.”
