The Spiritual Leaders are set to drop their new single titled ‘Underwater With You’ on July 10th. Before that, however, we get a first listen and, that first listen reveals itself as a brilliant combination of electronic backbeats with a beautifully droning guitar line that lays down the foundation for a unique vocal line that builds to a crescendo in a subtle and creative way. Take into account that this is a three-piece you can better appreciate the scope of the soundscape in this slowly building musical fire that is ‘Underwater With You’.

About The Spiritual Leaders

Irish Indie rock three-piece, The Spiritual Leaders, are releasing a second single from their Albania Away EP, ‘Underwater with You’ on Friday 10th July. Accompanied by a video shot on the beaches of Galway on the west coast of Ireland, ‘Underwater with You’ comes packaged with two b-sides: a dance remix of the single by producer Rob Newman of Snug Recording Co, Derby, England, and the Indie-Pop of new track, ‘Does This Mean’.

‘Underwater with You’ is the second single from the Albania Away EP, which has received glowing reviews, earned the band airplay on BBC Radio, and landed the three-piece a spot on the prestigious ‘Alternative Eire’ playlist on Spotify. Based around a circular guitar riff and electronic drumbeat, lyrically the song is about growing up and settling down. The big bad world exists outside the door of your home, but when you come inside this is the place where you be together and your little ‘underwater world’.

A product of the vibrant Origins music scene in their native Cavan town in Ireland, the band came together in 2009 through a shared love of classic Indie and Alternative Rock.

The Spiritual Leaders are:

  • David Reilly: lead vocals and guitar
  • Fergus Brady: lead guitar, bass guitar, keyboards, and backing vocals
  • Cathal Brady: drums and percussion
