The Lazlo Device is the new voice of indie. With a dreamy mix of melodic guitars and contemplative vocals the London based band manages to transport the qualities of 80s shoegazing into a 21st century narrative. The four-piece counts music professionals like Dominic Howard (Muse) and Howard Donald (Take That) among their fans and recently had pop legend Neneh Cherry attend one of their gigs. After what they describe as “four years of hard bloody work” the band has reached a level of proficiency that is made for big stages as can be heard in their upcoming single ‘Looking Glass’ from the album Duelism.

The band has taken inspiration from the likes of Muse, Radiohead, Joy Division or Arcade Fire and has proved to be equally as a capable to beautifully balance out the darker tones in their songs with a gradually building up sense of elation. Apart from demonstrating musical excellence members Dan Murdoch, Ross Saunders, Leo Fenn and Mark Litobarski are all active in a wide range of artistic spheres stretching from painting to film making and radio work. Ross works as a studio manager at Radio 1 and Dan has been a successful filmmaker for the BBC over the last few years.

Being formed out of the remains of noteworthy bands such as Goldroom, DP Wives or Turbowolf the lads combine years of experience with a well developed sound and a massive portion of diligence. The diversity of their style is primarily a product of various musical backgrounds. All four members are songwriters in their own right and having been influenced by a broad range of different genres has contributed greatly to the uniqueness of their songs.

The Lazlo Device has been played on various radio stations in the past, they have been on the bill at numerous festivals and have launched two EPs so far. Their music is also about to be featured on a forthcoming BBC documentary about the Black Panthers. With an electrifying album and a single coming up it’s only a question of time before the Lazlo Device are headlining arenas.

The single ‘Looking Glass’ will be out on 4th March 2016.
