The battle for Barcelona continues as Hard Rock International, in partnership with ReverbNation, announces the start of the live performance round of the Hard Rock Rising global battle of the bands. Hard Rock collaborated with ReverbNation’s curation team to select live round finalists from a pool of more than 13,000 global entrants. In addition, Hard Rock is introducing a new portion of the Rising contest by allowing bands to participate via video submissions. Musicians from around the world can now join bands that have already entered by recording a cover version from a pre-selected list of songs including tracks from Fall Out Boy, Taylor Swift, Avenged Sevenfold, Tove Lo and many more. Through Hard Rock Rising, aspiring musicians will receive the ultimate shot at stardom with an all-expenses paid trip to Barcelona, Spain to compete for the opportunity to perform at the first-ever Hard Rock Rising Barcelona global music festival this summer. In addition, the brand is pleased to announce that one of the world’s most legendary record labels, Island Records, will give the winner of Hard Rock’s global battle a potential development deal.

In the final phase of the contest, a panel of international music industry professionals will review the city winners and video submissions to determine six regional winners. This year’s judging panel includes the E Street Band’s Steven Van Zandt, legendary rocker and Poison frontman, Bret Michaels; Mumford & Sons’ bassist, Ted Dwane; Panic! at the Disco’s Brendon Urie; lead vocalist and guitarist for Frightened Rabbit, Scott Hutchinson; Canadian pop multi-instrumentalist, LIGHTS; bassist of the Taiwanese band Mayday, Masa; and Maps & Atlases’ Shiraz Dada. Each regional winner will receive an all-expenses paid trip to Barcelona, Spain to perform at Hard Rock Cafe Barcelona for the final live battle event. The overall winner will receive the opportunity of a lifetime – to perform on the main-stage at Hard Rock Rising Barcelona and receive a record deal with Island Records!
