  2. High On Hope Foxxglove 3:50

Jammerzine has a double dose of original goodness for you today courtesy of UK artist Foxxglove. First off, we get her new single titled ‘High On Hope’, which releases today. We also get an exclusive interview with the mind behind the music.

‘High On Hope’ is a continuation of the evolution of that original sound that is the artist Foxxglove. That suave mix of cinematic musical intricacy and beautiful vocals with a introverted and masterful style of lyrical songwriting. When an artist so young and at the start of her career has that much of an original sound, as well as knowing what she wants to shine her creative light on lyrically,, you can’t help but wonder what this artist will sound like in five years. This is how a fan bas is built. And kept.

And we learn a little bit about ‘High On Hope’ and more in this exclusive interview with Foxxglove.

About Foxxglove & ‘High On Hope’

Foxxglove returns with her triumphant third single, ‘High on Hope’ which is out 10th of December 2021 and available on all major digital streaming and download platforms. ‘High on Hope’ sees the Ferndale songstress return with a more positive and upbeat alt-pop/rock track to close the year out. Allowing her pitch-perfect vocals to soar, the optimistic track is about life after a turbulent time in someone’s life, stepping to the edge of despair & pulling yourself back. It’s the antidote to her second single ‘Bad Timing’ and continues the journey of the previous two singles. The single aims to unite outcasts, misfits and those who never feel like they fit the status quo as she roars “We are the lost kids, wanna feel fearless.”

Foxxglove talks about the track saying, “High on Hope is born out of desperately trying to find like minded people and to be accepted and live fearlessly. I first thought of the lyrics whilst in alternative night clubs in Cardiff such as ‘Metros’ and ‘Team Up’ with my friends. I remember feeling happy and free and that I could be completely and utterly myself, something that I haven’t always felt throughout my life. It’s kind of an anthem for ‘outcasts and oddballs’. I was bullied throughout my time at school and always made to feel like a ‘weirdo’ or a ‘freak’. But I found people who were just as unique as I was and we all come together at these alternative night clubs and it just feels amazing like ‘getting high on hope’. That’s what the song encapsulates.”

High on Hope pulsates, soars and uplifts with rich emotion, as Foxxglove’s stunning voice once again takes center stage, and is stretched to new peaks on this powerful new anthem. The complex pop melodies are once again produced by Minas, with Jed Robertson embellishing the lyrics with his intricate guitar throughout.

Foxxglove is an alt / dark pop artist from Ferndale in the South Wales Valleys, based in Cardiff. Taking inspiration from her own life experiences, film and art to tell a story that captures peoples hearts; her raw and open emotion seeps through every part of her music.

Since debuting as an artist she has achieved so much from her very first performance in July 2019 to playing Sŵn Festival, all the way to performing 3 unmissable sets at FOCUS Wales 2021. Foxxglove has announced that she will be supporting Thrill Collins on Saturday the 26th of March 2022 at Tiny Rebel Cardiff. Tickets HERE.
