Only Okay has today released his new single titled ‘I Am Building’ from his upcoming album ’25’ dropping on January 17th. Fresh from the immense output that was the monthly EPs Only Okay has released this year, I find it beyond impressive, being a musician myself, that Only has the creative stamina to stay as interesting and musically fluid as ‘I Am Building’ shows. Only a true artist with the creative flow of a monumental genius can pull something like that off and continue to stay original. That is a feat in and of itself.
With ‘I Am Building’, we get the ‘gateway drug’ of what is to come next week with ’25’. A beautifully structured evolution of that revolution that the best musicians face at that metaphoric crossroads. As the song opens, we get a prophetic warning: ‘I am everything you wouldn’t expect. No comparison.’. This is what to expect when listening to Only Okay. That expectations are not only wrong but can be prejudice. Prejudice as in pre-judging. Only Okay is one of those artists that beat that down with every syllable and throw it back at the sayer. It’s music like this that let’s you know that, sometimes, the best music is ‘only okay’.

About Only Okay & ’25’
Only Okay is on fire in the world of hip-hop, creating memorable beats and releasing them on EP’s every month since January of 2023. Born in Albany, NY., but now residing in Detroit, MI., Only Okay, also known as Griffin Shiminski, has an incredible “25” song album dropping January 17, 2024, available for purchase HERE. Only Okay says, “The album, 25 is entirely separate from the monthly EPs that I put out this year. It is a 25-song project that is a mix of old and new school hip-hop with themes of addiction, mental health, eliminating self-doubt and more.” He continues, “The album has 8 songs from the monthly EPs and 17 brand new songs and recaps my year as a 25- year-old, so I can have something to look back on later on in life.”
Only Okay has recently played at The International Arts and Peace Festival, The Corktown Tavern and Renegades Bar. He plans on playing more shows in the coming months and continuing to create great music from the heart in 2024 and beyond.
The album 25 was produced by Super Producer and Engineer, Chuck Alkazian (Pop Evil, Soundgarden, Tantric) at Pearl Sound Studios (Asking Alexandria, Eminem, Filter) in Canton, MI.
