Live in Pictures: Butcher Babies

    Butcher Babies
    Butcher Babies
    1. An Interview with Butcher Babies Jammerzine Exclusive 8:00

Taken at face value, GOLIATH is the monstrous debut from one of the most exciting bands to emerge from the Los Angeles metal scene since System Of A Down turned the city on end nearly twenty years ago. But scratch beneath the surface and the haunting story behind GOLIATH blurs in and out of horrific focus, examining the ruins of an American culture obsessed with apocalyptic carnage. GOLIATH was born in the bleak wasteland where the more savage your act, the more celebrated you become – and in a world where the miserable feel obliged to retaliate, the BUTCHER BABIES shatter the dementia with molten fury and unbridled sonic bliss.

Hailing from the City Of Angels, the BUTCHER BABIES offer redemption from the overplayed underground, exorcising demons with a visceral sound matched only in scope by their explosive stage show. Frontwomen Carla Harvey and Heidi Shepherd, guitarist Henry Flury [Amen], bassist Jason Klein [Azdachao] and drummer Chris Warner [Scars of Tomorrow] juxtapose brutal, aggressive riffs with beautiful melodies that wail with anguish and hope for redemption.

The band signed a worldwide deal with Century Media Records in December 2012, and a month later hit the road with Marilyn Manson on what proved to be one of the new year’s most talked about tours. The run was a return to form for Manson and a call to arms for the BUTCHER BABIES, who honed their razor-sharp riffs and soul-searing vocals in front of live audiences as a source of manic pre-production. Only days after wrapping the tour in the City Of Sin, the band was in an L.A. studio with producer Josh Wilbur [Gojira, Lamb Of God, Hatebreed] recording the debut album that has the metal community buzzing.

The eleven-track opus chronicles the story of the forsaken as they transform into GOLIATH – monsters that society has built, and monsters that turn to society for retribution. Suddenly opening track “I Smell A Massacre” is more than just shock rock, casting a cautionary tale to anyone in screaming distance. And once it sinks in that GOLIATH is more than just a figment of our imagination, the rest of the album becomes all the more real.

“Magnolia Blvd” is about the demons that coexist around us all, while “Grim Sleeper” is unsettling and haunting, an angelic intro quickly pulverized by a repressed memory so real we feel the victim’s cries. “In Denial” couples blood-curdling angst with more of the melodies that showcase the BUTCHER BABIES unique, two-frontwoman lineup at its most profound – singing and screaming trading hope and rage like caged souls fighting for freedom. “Give Me Reason” bounces hard and fast with hell-bent fury, “The Mirror Never Lies” assaults our reflection with an ominous and catchy chorus, and “The Deathsurround” showcases the band at perhaps its most intense with a song as heavy and brutal as the title suggests.

BUTCHER BABIES celebrate the July 9 release of GOLIATH as part of the 2013 Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival, where they are a mainstay on the Jagermeister stage and spend the summer alongside heavyweights including Rob Zombie, Five Finger Death Punch, Machine Head, Mastodon and Amon Amarth.

With an unrelenting delivery and uncompromising intent to melt faces, GOLIATH is more than just a record – it is the growing enemy that angers, drives and inspires the BUTCHER BABIES. GOLIATH is our common enemy, and BUTCHER BABIES have arrived to deliver the soundtrack that will lead us into battle…

SUPERTRAMP Co-Founder ROGER HODGSON Readies Fall Tour

Roger Hodgson, legendary vocalist and singer-songwriter from Supertramp, is heading back to North America for a series of fall dates. Following extensive tours of Europe and Brazil, Hodgson kicks off his North America tour on November 4 in Wabash, Indiana.

Hodgson, one of the most gifted composers and lyricists of our time, co-founded the progressive rock band Supertramp in 1969. Roger was the driving force behind what fans call the “golden years” of the band that made Supertramp a worldwide phenomenon with album sales in excess of 60 million. He wrote, sang, and arranged the enduring rock standards such as “Breakfast in America,” “Give a Little Bit,” “Take the Long Way Home,” “The Logical Song,” “Dreamer,” “It’s Raining Again,” “School,” and “Fool’s Overture.”

Accompanied by a four-piece band, Roger Hodgson continues to perform all his hits he wrote and later recorded with Supertramp plus other classics of his such as “Child of Vision,” “Hide in Your Shell,” “Sister Moonshine,” and “Even in the Quietest Moments,” plus favorites from his solo albums – “Only Because of You,” “Lovers in the Wind,” and “In Jeopardy” – many of which can be found on his current CD release, Classics Live.

Uniting generations, Hodgson is transporting baby boomers back to their youth while giving younger concertgoers a taste of why his heartfelt songs have endured. In fact, this year marks the 40th Anniversary of “Crime of the Century,” released in September 1974 (see press release below). Hodgson’s song, “Dreamer,” became Supertramp’s first international runaway hit, driving the album to the top of the charts. “School,” “Hide in Your Shell,” and “If Everyone Was Listening” are also fan favorites from the album that Hodgson wrote and composed and often plays in concert.

Roger’s shows give North American audiences the opportunity to once again experience the magic and spirit that Hodgson created with Supertramp.

Roger Hodgson North America Tour Dates:

    • November 4 – Wabash, IN – Honeywell Center
    • November 6 – Detroit, MI – MotorCity Casino Hotel
    • November 7 – Niagara Falls, NY – Seneca Niagara Falls Casino and Resort
    • November 8 – Ridgefield, CT – Ridgefield Playhouse
    • November 9 – Bethlehem, PA – Sands Bethlehem Event Center
    • November 11 – Huntington, NY – The Paramount
    • November 14 & 15 – Rama, ON, Canada – Casino Rama

“Whether it’s the melodic complexity of his songs, the harmonies he weaves with his band, the lyrics that sweep you away or his ability to still command the incredible upper range of his voice, ‘beautiful’ was what kept coming to mind over and over again during his performance. ‘Breathtaking’ might also apply. ‘I want more’ certainly would.” ~ Ted Hansen – Mesa Classic Rock Music Examiner

“All these years I thought I was a Supertramp fan when actually I was and am a Roger Hodgson fan. What a show! WOW is all I can say.” ~ David Wild, Contributing Editor, Rolling Stone

Check out his latest release, “Classics Live.” This spectacular collection of Roger’s hit songs from concerts recorded around the world on his 2010 tour is available through his Store and iTunes.

ABOUT SUPERTRAMP’S CRIME OF THE CENTURY:
Celebrating the 40th Anniversary since its release in 1974, Crime of the Century features the cream of Rick Davies’ and Roger Hodgson’s songwriting, was the first of the many peaks in Supertramp’s illustrious career; an album that had everything to prove and tunes that effortlessly straddled the world of pure pop and progressive rock. The significant change that happened with Supertramp on this album was that Hodgson and Davies had each found their strength as songwriters and were writing alone. With the unmistakable blend of the two songwriters – Davies’ and Hodgson’s – work, it married the sweetness of Hodgson’s ‘Dreamer’ — the band’s first big hit single — with the grit of Davies’ similarly beloved ‘Bloody Well Right.’ In ‘School,’ ‘Rudy,’ and the title track, the band – Davies, Hodgson, John Helliwell, Bob Siebenberg, and Dougie Thomson – helped define what would soon be known as ‘Adult Oriented Rock.’ This was — and is — not just an album that showed Supertramp’s increased maturity, but a timeless gem marked by the incredible melodies and thoughtful lyrics of Roger Hodgson and Rick Davies.

This 40th Anniversary edition will be released December 9 in the US and contains the classic original album, remastered by Ray Staff at Air Studios, and a second disc features their 1975 Hammersmith Odeon concert, mixed from the original tapes by original on-the-night engineer Ken Scott, capturing the band on the verge of stardom, showcasing all of Crime, and also previewing tracks from the then-as-yet-unreleased follow-up, Crisis? What Crisis? The LP eventually peaked at Number 4 on the UK charts and saw the band for the first time on the US Top 40.

‘Dreamer’ also became the band’s first hit single. “I’m fortunate to have written songs that have become hits without ever trying to write one,” Hodgson says. “I’ve never sat down and said ‘OK I’m going to write a hit song.’ Inspiration comes in many different ways. Usually it comes when I get out of the way losing myself in the sound of the instrument I am playing – it’s almost like being in a meditative state. With ‘Dreamer,’ the inspiration was born out of excitement and just erupted out of me.” Hodgson continues, “Looking back, it was quite serendipitous that as a young songwriter with so many dreams I had my first hit with a song named ‘Dreamer.’ It was certainly a thrill to hear it being played all over the radio. Creating our reality, I’ve since realised, often starts with our dreams.”

‘If Everyone Was Listening.’ Another of Hodgson’s philosophical musings, ‘If Everyone Was Listening’ reaches back to Shakespeare’s As You Like It adage (‘All the world’s a stage, and all the men are merely players’) for allegorical inspiration.

“It’s all simply a play,” says Hodgson, “The world is the stage for all of us, and the song is more about just becoming aware of what is really real in life. And it’s a longing for love in a world that is falling apart.” Hodgson added, “To this day it has always been my ambition as an artist to try to make the world a better place through my music ever since The Beatles inspired me by how they made such a difference in the world.”

Live In Pictures: Pop Evil + Interview

Pop Evil represents the American Dream. Raised in the heartland, driven by uncompromising passion and goals, self-made from their bootstraps and energized by diverse cultural and ethnic backgrounds, Pop Evil has used muscle and sweat to put their musical vision into the hearts and minds of hard rock lovers worldwide.

Onyx, Pop Evil’s brand new third album, is a triumph of hard rock perseverance and rabble-rousing attitude, the type of record that inspires like minded outsiders to optimism. Onyx tracks like “Trenches,” “Divide” and “Torn to Pieces” are destined for the type of hard-won ubiquity earned by “Last Man Standing,” “Monster You Made” and the Mick Mars collaboration “Boss’s Daughter” from 2010’s War of Angels.

After three Top 5 songs at Rock Radio, a fourth in the Top 10, a half million digital singles sold and over 1,000 shows a few short years into their impressive career, Pop Evil’s return with Onyx is a swaggering, fist-pumping, ball-busting ride through American rock. The grandiose melody of the ‘70s, the danger of the ‘80s, the emotion of the ‘90s and the loudest of modern riffs all have a home in Pop Evil, who fashion a fresh sound that looks to the future through the prism of rock’s past.

During the rigorous touring and promotion in support of War of Angels, Pop Evil found themselves needing to replace both their drummer and their lead guitar player. The discovery of new drummer Chaci Riot aka Josh Marunde and later of lead guitarist Nick Fuelling reinvigorated the band all over again, inspiring them to press forward (as always) and conquer all obstacles. The changes in the band coalesced the present lineup into Pop Evil’s most fearsome incarnation, strengthening them as a unit.

Pop Evil has emerged victorious from the gritty dues-paying days of self-releasing records. They’ve survived industry struggles that would have ended other bands, with their spirits still intact, conquering obstacles at every show with every song. Produced by fellow Midwesterner Johnny K (Disturbed, 3 Doors Down, Megadeth), Onyx represents a musical, creative and personal graduation for all of Pop Evil.

The great state of Michigan has produced Bob Seger, Kid Rock and Eminem. Kiss adopted it as a second home in “Detroit Rock City.” Pop Evil is the natural summation and continuation of all of those elements, distilled into powerful art.

“That’s the beauty of living in the United States of America,” declares vocalist Leigh Kakaty. “Rock n’ roll is a huge part of being an American. Being proud of that red, white and blue. Just like in Pop Evil, you’re going to see a lot of people who are minorities who don’t look like the typical rock star. You’re going to have more and more people with different ethnic backgrounds that want to embrace the guitar.”

Pop Evil songs are heard on ESPN, ABC, FOX and other networks. Sports teams like Anaheim Ducks, New Jersey Devils, Boston Bruins, and their very own Detroit Red Wings, Tigers and Michigan Wolverines bang their anthems over the loudspeakers. Pop Evil’s music brings people together. It energizes listeners with confident power.

Lipstick on the Mirror was given a major label re-release and found its way into listener’s hands despite the business trouble that resulted in Pop Evil tearing up their major label contract on stage, in what Spin Magazine called one of the Ten Best Moments of Rock on the Range. Their debut was a precursor to the astoundingly pristine follow-up, War of Angels, which brought Pop Evil to a worldwide audience.“We’ve got that blue collar following. People are pulling for us as underdogs,” Kakaty says. “People see that we’re constantly on the climb, doing it from the ground up.”

Bringing their dynamic, larger-than-life, old-school rock star stage show to fans internationally, Pop Evil has perfected their live chops on tours with heavy-hitters like Five Finger Death Punch, Three Doors Down, Papa Roach, Puddle Of Mudd, Theory of a Deadman, Buckcherry, Judas Priest, Black Stone Cherry and Seether.

Kakaty, guitarists Dave Grahs and Nick Fuelling, bassist Matt DiRito and drummer Chaci Riot went into the writing process for Onyx with definitive purpose. “We really wanted to do this album for the fans and for ourselves,” Kakaty explains. “We were extremely focused on this record to make the album we wanted and our fans want.”

Like the name Pop Evil suggests, the riffs are in your face but the melodies will tug at heartstrings and inspire sing-alongs in bars, cars and concert venues. For Pop Evil, music is what they are called to do. It’s who they are. It’s what they believe in.

Lead single “Trenches” represents the hard work Pop Evil has endured to bring their music to the masses. “It’s about our battles,” Kakaty says. “Not focusing on the things we can’t control, if we really want to be a band that stands the test of time we have to write the music that connects. We have to dig our way out of the trenches.”

The message of “Trenches” applies to the world of art as well as the world of sports, or the military, or anyone struggling with the economic downturn, like Pop Evil’s home stage of Michigan. During a slump in the music industry, Pop Evil is living proof that you can still make a living following your dreams. “It’s a matter of time before rock and roll is in the forefront again and we want to be part of that.”

Like everyone in their audience, Pop Evil is not immune to personal struggles in life. Kakaty’s father passed away during the War of Angels process. The singer deals with the emotional fallout in the Onyx ballad “Torn to Pieces,” which anyone who has lost a loved one can empathize with on some level. “We’re first generation to this great country; he was my best friend and such a die-hard supporter of Pop Evil. If it wasn’t for him, I don’t know if I would be where I’m at; he would give me anything he could and always make sure that I was doing what I loved. It was a hard song to write, but it’s definitely one of my favorite songs on the album.”

The same way “Torn to Pieces” can bring people together through shared hardships, the song “Divide” addresses the fierce divisions that separate too many people these days. “This country is always being divided, whether it’s rock and roll, country, rap or whatever. At the end of the day it’s musical expression. There’s no right or wrong. It’s just a question of what you want to listen to. The song is about a vision that we can somehow come together, that we can maybe always stand for something a little bigger. Whether it’s a small percentage or millions of us, we can start to embrace that motivation and appreciation instead of segregation and division.”

Of the many standout tracks on Onyx, there’s also “Flawed,” which came about right in the studio in an extremely organic fashion. The lyrical content is also autobiographical. “Pop Evil just always stayed steady on the climb up, we’ve always been on the rise. For so long we’ve felt like we were flawed. There was always an excuse, like oh well you know, the label didn’t give us this money, we didn’t have this budget, we didn’t get that. It always seemed like we weren’t good enough.”

“Flawed” represents discarding that old mentality, the way listeners should with their own struggles and self-doubt. It’s about being strong and rising above. That idea, to graduate to the next level and not look back, permeates all of Onyx.

Pop Evil doesn’t take anything for granted. They know their listeners are open-minded but that they also have a lot of choices. They want to be challenged. They want to be inspired. That’s why the band works hard to create music that stands out.

“We’re not trying to sell this record so to speak, that’s where the graduation truly lies,” Kakaty says. “We’re just being us. We’re being honest. Great music doesn’t need a salesman. From the music, to the packaging, to the image, it’s all there. We are a band with purpose, we’ve made an album with purpose. That will sell itself.”

Daily Dose: Jon Byrne – The Bitch and Her Greed

    10336589_10203867621031623_7442069286995689455_n

Jon’s music and wordsmithery was once described in ‘Clash’ magazine as ‘taking the Arctic Monkey’s patter to a higher level of sophistication’ and former NME journalist Gavin Martin wrote; ‘Byrne tackles tough reality with splenetic attack, black humour and colourful dramatic songs… This is rock from the rough end of the streets, delivered with guts and passion’.

Jon originally came to prominence when he was spotted by Clash man, Mick Jones, whilst on a photo and video shoot on Portobello Road. Jones was so impressed that he booked Jon on the spot for his Carbon Casino bash that night. That went so well that he returned for every subsequent Carbon Casino event and spent several months performing and recording with Mick and his entourage, both on stage and in the studio.

Jon is a past winner of Glastonbury ‘Leftfield’ best new artist award and over the years has graced the stage with artists such as Billy Bragg, I Am Kloot, The Wombats, Cage the Elephant, John Cooper Clarke, Alabama 3, Ed Tudorpole and Tom Hingley as well as Clash legend, Mick Jones, himself, with Carbon Silicon and appearing together in the Rotten Hill Gang.

Jon has played 02 Academy’s, Festivals and smaller venues, the length and breadth of the UK and also toured the West Coast of America in 2012.

With sharp looking suits, even sharper lyrics, beautifully woven melodies and performances that shake the stage with enough energy to force the needle off the Richter scale, Jon Byrne, is a troubadour for the zeitgeist and provides the perfect escapism away from the continuing recession and the ‘grind’ of 21st Century living.

Larisa Gosla releases new EP ‘Suddenly’

The pop singer and songwriter known as Larisa Gosla has released her debut EP record, “Suddenly.” The record contains six original tracks for an approximate total listening time of 25 minutes. It has been proudly published as an independent release without the support of the corporate music industry. Upbeat, pretty, and bursting with creative colors and sonic textures, “Suddenly” by Larisa Gosla is one of the most intriguing and unique records to drop in 2014.

Gosla, who performs and lives in Los Angeles, cites as main artistic influences pop favorites such as Jason Mraz, Marc Broussard, Sara Barreilles, Ingrid Michaelson, Peggy Lee, and Renee Olstead. As a singer, Gosla’s own tonal character is a surprising blend of the traditional and the singular, resulting in a high-quality, high-gloss timbre that lends itself exceptionally well to both melody and harmony. “Suddenly” by Larisa Gosla is a flawlessly executed and produced EP that is reminiscent of certain attributes of Feist, Regina Spektor, and Helen Reddy.

Writing candidly of the themes of her debut record, Gosla explains, “The messages I like to share in my music are ones that are uplifting and positive. Ones that show you the TRUTH of life and echo back those words of truth. Songs that MOVE you, that when you listen to the lyrics you know exactly how to feel. Things you can relate to in your own life. And lastly the message is one of hope and continuing strength.”

A natural performer, Gosla has been onstage since the age of five. She is a veteran performer of the famous nonprofit performing arts group, the Young Americans, with whom she toured both domestically and abroad. She has kept her chops sharp between gigs by performing in community theater and at a western theme park, in which capacity she has sung, danced, and even engaged in stunts. Gosla’s “Suddenly” EP represents the artist in her truest, purest form.

“Suddenly” by Larisa Gosla is available online worldwide at http://www.amazon.com/Suddenly-EP-Larisa-Gosla/dp/B00O9X9O88/.

First Listen: Lord of Pagathon – Nekros Philia

    lop_cover

Lord Of Pagathorn crawled out from its decayed coffin in 1992 at the Arctic Circle, Finland. The first official demo “The Chaos Spirit Among Us” was viciously chanted out in 1994 and back then the demo gained huge interest in the black metal underground scene. The hour of blasphemy and chaos triumphed!

    Era 2010 – Present
24th of December 2010, over one and a half decade later, Lord Of Pagathorn once again united their forces with the dead and puked out their second demo “MSILIHPORCEN” presenting first three dusty chapters from the “NEKROS PHILIA” theme album, which Lord Of Pagathorn was writing in their rehearsal crypt.

In short period, the demo gained praising feedback and killer reviews. In year 2011 band roared out from its lifeless crypt and made a record deal with Woodcut Records. The deal consists of two full length albums and one 7″EP. Band attacked the studio later in the year 2011 and recorded one new song and one cover song for “Shine through my scars, Morning Star!” 7″ vinyl. “Shine through my scars, Morning Star!” was released in 2012.

Between 2013 – 2014 the recordings of “NEKROS PHILIA” took place and this first full-length of LORD OF PAGATHORN is set to be released by Woodcut Records on 31st of October 2014.

Daily Dose: Tim Ciantar – Mind’s Eye Calling

    1781534_702241476525469_353745456373624572_o

I was born in 1988, My name is Timothy Ciantar I’m a die hard, self taught music creator and avid music fan. I first started playing guitar back in high school just for fun and to be in a bands. But have a genuine passion for all instruments.

Playing in front of the school assembly was a regular occurrence and blasting them with a dose of Metal most times. After high school I decided to continue playing on a more serious level, being in multiple bands ranging through genres.

A few years more, after high school I was asked to audition for local rock band “October Rage”, the audition went rather well and it was not long after that, I was asked to officially join the band. We went on to play many shows and later recorded a Single titled “Silverline” which was well received by our friends and fans.

We also recorded an album (“Outrage”) and a second single (“White Walkers, which the theme was based on hit HBO series Game Of Thrones) This track was also well received nationally and Internationally.

We had some luck a little bit down the track ,winning a competition run by Triple M and scoring the spot of opening for Bon Jovi in Sydney on their Circle Tour in Australia.

Following that the we decided to make plans to tour the USA in which we travelled far and wide smashing shows at various venues and scoring fun supports most notably with acts such as “Steel Panther” and “Sevendust”.

The whole tour was a great experience and a very insightful learning process to the music industry. Towards the end of the tour I decided to part ways with the band due to various issues and wanting a change in direction. So after my last show I headed back to the homeland!

I now currently run a small Music Production business and I also collaborate with other local artists. Theres no restrictions now to what I can do, where I can take this and what i can achieve, I can finally bring my passion to fruition.

I write a range of music, not limiting myself to one style or set genre. I have written, Rock, Pop, Electronic, Cinematic, Music For Film/Games, Metal, Acoustic, Rap and a fair few others.

Last year (2013) one of my many tracks Spectral Confuserium” was nominated for an award at the MusicOZ awards in the instrumental category. It was an honour being a finalist and part of such a great event for local independent artists. I plan on entering many tracks again this year!

I have also recently been a judge for the Global battle of the bands heats locally, nutting out some of the hottest talent about!

    Peace!

Daily Dose: Ignotus Enthropya – Solid Silver

    DSC_0838

The band was formed in July 2009 by guitarist Christian Alexander Oppitz and bassist Balázs Molnár (ex-Twister, Rektális Szerzetesrend), who met through the latter’s ad for additional musicians for his new project. The initial musical vision was inspired by melodic death and progressive metal, with complex song structures, technical guitar solos, and athmospheric keyboard groundwork combined with harsh vocals.

After the first few jams and an enduring search for members to complete the line-up, the core of the band came into form with the addition of drummer Turcsák “Turi” Bence (Ex-Limb for a Limb, Kill With Hate), second guitarist Ádám Gerhes and keyboardist Bálint Kemény (Ex-Niburta, Númenor, Elanor). Songwriting commenced for the first instrumental demo shortly after, to promote the new band and to find a suitable vocalist.

Dávid Gazdag (Ex-Singara) was found eventually as the group’s singer in 2011, and preparations began to perform live as well. Ignotus Enthropya’s stage debut happened in april 2012, and the band did a few shows throughout the year, however, by the beginning of 2013 they were without a frontman once again. The vacant position was later filled by Turi’s friend and former bandmate Zsolt Lédeczi (Effrontery, Teurgia, Deathstruck), and work began on the first official release.

After months of silence, the band finally returned to stage in March 2014, and in September, the debut 4-track EP, entitled “Solid Silver” was also released. By that time, Bálint Kemény has left the band and was replaced by Mátyás Martinka. Ignotus Enthropya is now stronger than ever and eager to promote their music worldwide in every possible way!

Italian Indie Rockers Noel and the Pandas

Noel and the Pandas are the hottest new alternative rock sound to emerge from Italy. With a soft rock sound and sensitive lyrics, the guys add a hearty Italian twist to rock.

The band is led by front man Noel, who is the ultimate Italian Jack of all trades that has finally found his calling in the world of alternative rock music.

Noel’s journey into music has been an unusual route, to say the least. Having lent his hand to many trades, Noel’s career is a fascinating and chaotic tale; beginning his career as a lawyer, Noel went on to have a long career in the banking industry. One day Noel’s career as a banker came to a crashing end over night as he lost everything in the blink of an eye when the bank he worked for was drawn into an Italian banking scandal, which even saw his father unjustly imprisoned for a brief period. Following this tragedy Noel was left recovering metal scraps from the streets and was even worked as a fisherman in West Africa for a short while, as he struggled to make ends meet.

With nothing left to his name, Noel turned to music to overcome his troubles. After mastering the guitar Noel soon realised his real passion lied in making music and began to express his troubles through his lyrics. Whilst learning how to harness his new found talent Noel began the quest for band mates to help complete his new musical venture.

Nicola Rosti, the bands lead guitarist, was the first recruit. Having been Noel’s guitar teacher for some time, the pair had a natural musical chemistry that morphed into band mate material with ease. The talented Rosti has a long and illustrious career in the music industry; having been involved with numerous bands Rosti brings technical brilliance to the ensemble and is responsible for the production of the album. Dominic Sambucco, on rhythm guitar, was the next to join. A Canadian citizen living in Italy, Sambucco’s strumming talent completed the guitar sounds of the band. Well versed in the art of alternative rock, Filippo Parmeggiani joined the band to play drums. Finally, the band was completed by the arrival of Matt Straveden. With a history as a classic pianist, Straveden is the bands keys player.

The band has an alternative rock sound, with a soft undertone that subtly embraces the best of rock.‘In The Art Of Doom’ is the debut album from the band and showcases the rockin’ talents of the five guys. A number of tracks on the album explore the heart ache Noel has suffered over recent years and draws the listener into his complex world through his heartfelt lyrics.
