1. Dreams The Red Light District 2:56

The Red Lite District are a four piece punk rock band from Glasgow, Scotland. The band produce a distinctive blend of punk rock which can be energetic and atmospheric with a modern edge. Their sound is filled with momentum, melody and vivid lyrics. Live Schedule The band have been playing live in the UK for a few years and are in the process of arranging gigs throughout the United Kingdom in support of this new EP.

This new EP sees The Red Lite District expand their sound with wider and slower arrangements. This collection of songs builds on where last EP ‘The Shape of Things to Come’ left off, venturing into swirling atmospheric sounds which create an ‘ambient-punk’ landscape. This is best illustrated on the track ‘Decadence + Decay’ which manages to be both concise in language, meaning and length, but expansive in depth. The track ‘Dreams’ summons The Stooges at their finest and their most energetic, never giving up on its intent to self-destruct. ‘Heaven’ veers into grunge with a dark and brooding lyric and a big chorus. ‘You’ve Lost Your Mind’ returns to the simple fast-paced punk rock the band have previously been known for. And finally ‘Cold’ takes a more tender turn, its melody, lyrics and music really make this a cinematic sounding piece of emotion. Work will begin on forming videos for Youtube release of all five tracks.

A key aim of this release is to gain some further exposure, in particular through EP reviews by punk and alternative magazines. Another key aim is to obtain radio play through radio stations in order to reach people immediately out with the bands current live gigging reach. The EP will be a digital release only, and will be available on all of the most common digital retailers including Spotify, Amazon and iTunes.

DCC Records was established in 2019 as a medium for releasing the bands music, as well as other local punk rock bands. ‘Pleasureland’ is the fourth release from The Red Lite District on the label.
