Sometimes its just Crooksy, sometimes he is joined by Wilki. Occasionally, other people are brought in to do the things they can’t do.

These two first got together in the mid nineties and formed an on/off musical partnership that has seen them write, record and perform both together and separately ever since. Their musical adventures have taken them all over Ireland sharing the bill with a diverse range of acts from the Manic Street Preachers to The Mission to Fairport Convention. Radio and TV appearances have been numerous on BBCNI, UTV and RTE.

Both are originally from Belfast, Northern Ireland and that’s where they cut their teeth, playing live and recording, including several singles on the legendary Good Vibrations label written by Crooksy whilst in PBR Streetgang.

The philosophy is simple – using old tunes found lying around their heads, they have forged together a handful of musical pieces, guitar riffs, piano fragments, bass lines, fx pedals , old microphones, gaffer tape and trumpet stabs. A mixture of gothic tones and sparkling pop, sun drenched despair to joyous thunderstorms.

To get your musical bearings The Graceland Conspiracy are influenced by/copied/ripped off/show respect to: Sparklehorse, Eels, Mark Lanegan, Sigur Ros, The Doors plus various Blues, Country, Punk, Folk bands as well as numerous films, TV shows and cartoons…… a 21st Century Soundtrack.
