Feralman has released his new single titled ‘Where Were You Before?’. Recorded in a alt-country vibe with a feeling for all things of home, Feralman gives life to love and love to originality in a way that only an earnest troubadour can provide. This is music at its core.
Introducing mellifluous female vocals not heard previously in Feralman’s work, ‘Where Were You Before?’ captures the intense, overwhelming emotion of welcoming someone new and important into your life.
Radiating with the enchanted feeling of bringing new life into the world, the track’s delicate and soothing instrumental exposes a soft, lullaby-esque vocal from Feralman against twinkling guitar lines and elegant loops. Commenting on his latest release, Feralman said: “I wrote ‘Where Were You Before?’ just after my daughter was born and it was initially a really simple acoustic lullaby that I sang to help her sleep.
“It then developed into a much larger philosophical question about the transfer of life’s energy. Where did it come from? Where does it go? How does it work?
This is also the first song that we’ve introduced the female backing vocals, which I think really helps bring this track to life and mimic the soft, lullaby atmosphere that ‘Where Were You Before?’ began as.”
Born in Wales, Feralman has always had a passion for music and the arts. Following the birth of his daughter in January 2020, Feralman decided it was time to share his music with the world, prompting the release of debut single ‘When All Is Almost Lost’ in November 2020.
Since then, Feralman has also released his second single, ‘I am DRAGON!’, along with two official music videos. His debut album is also due for release this year. ‘Where Were You Before?’ was produced by Rafael Rico, a Venezuelan music composer, and producer with a vast portfolio of films, TV commercials, documentaries, who has worked with international award-winning producers such as Bob Ezrin (Pink Floyd) and Garth Richardson (Red Hot Chilli Peppers). Mixed by Ricardo Martinez and mastered by Gabriel Alvarez, ‘
