My Autumn Amor has today premiered his new single titled ‘Quiet Girl’. Thomas Monroe, aka My Autumn Amor gives a slow burn in a not quite a ballad track with strong undertones and an electro-orchestral vibe. You can hear the history in ‘Quiet Girl’. That history of music listened and learned, sometimes painfully, always personally, to by Thomas and ingested into each song he records and lets the music fly. It’s there. It’s in us. You can fly.
About My Autumn Amor
My Autumn Amor is L.A. based songwriter Thomas Monroe. Monroe’s songs have consistently found their way to both college and mainstream radio thru various monikers and bands. “Your Life Is A Song (Ft. Yuki Noda) recently peaked at #51 on the Mediabase Chart, wracking up over 1,800 spins on Top 40 stations in the United States. He has had 3 previous songs on KROQ Los Angeles, one on Alt 98.7, airplay on over 240 college stations, and his latest release was featured by Nic Harcourt on KCSN, and in Tokyo, Japan on INTERFM.
Monroe’s musical journey began when his father put a microphone in his hand at 5 years old and made him sing along with the Beatles vinyl records. This corruption continued in elementary school in the form of gifts of Casio keyboards and low budget guitars and amplifiers. Early vinyl adventures included David Bowie, T-Rex, Pixies, and King Crimson. After Grade 9, Monroe left home with a suitcase, a guitar, and John Lennon – Plastic Ono Band (1971).
Thomas spent 3 years in high school as a homeless teenager, at times literally singing for his supper. At other times not eating for days at a time. He is now a monthly contributor to UNICEF Guardian Circle children’s fund, and urges those who can to contribute.
