ShareTweet Broken Baby has released their new video for their single titled ‘Manic Panic’. Totally done in its own unique danceable punk n’ roll style, the video makes self quarantining fun and shows that isolation varies with originality. This is a fun song on the surface and a life lesson underneath. Fun in its personality and execution and a life lesson showing that the pandemic shows who we are with our composure and how we handle the pressure. Or lack thereof. Lessoned learned and inspiration taken. About Broken Baby & ‘Manic Panic’ Los Angeles rock & roll duo Broken Baby, composed of Alex Dezen and Amber Bollinger, unleash explosive new single/video “Manic Panic”. The release is certainly a song for these times, a la dissonant disco-punk, with the music video featuring creative clips from dedicated fans + the band lip-synching from respective quarantine locations. “I’ve got prison and a purpose,” Bollinger belts over the song’s chorus, “and a microphone in my hand.” Though the song was written before the murder of George Floyd and subsequent protests against police brutality and systemic racism, the lyrical refrain could have been taken from the headlines. “It was always a protest song,” Bollinger says. “Music these days has to do more than make you move, you know? It has to raise the alarm bell. This is a song about doing just that.” @brokenbabybaby @says_rights A little too easy, huh. 🤗 About 16 minutes ago from Broken Baby's Twitter via Twitter for iPhone @Shockmain Haha! It's actually great, depending on the brand!!! But I've also had vegan cream cheese that's not so good, which is a bummer. About 2 days ago from Broken Baby's Twitter via Twitter for iPhone Recorded and produced by Dezen and the band’s Sally Studio in Los Angeles, the pulsing new track is the latest release from Dezen and Bollinger’s own Poor Man Records imprint, a label shared by alternative acts such as Tummyache, Human Barbie, The Eyyes and Pure Adult. In place of playing shows, the band has been releasing “Live-ish from Quarantine” performance videos of select songs via various social media platforms, featuring socially distanced, digital appearances by touring band members Adam Popick on bass and Brian Griffin. Fans can hear new single “Manic Panic” *liveish* on July 29 via the band’s next IGTV stream session. Broken Baby is blazing into 2020 hot off the heels of their critically-acclaimed self-titled debut LP in 2018, a spattering of singles in 2019 and tour dates around the US with Dead Sara, Summer Cannibals, and Poor Man Records labelmates Tummyache. With the constant churn of their song machine and the band’s blistering performances led by the Vesuvius-like Bollinger, Broken Baby is a modern-day rock juggernaut built for the DIY ethos of our time.
