Americana, to me, evokes memories of home and heartfelt family wonder as a young boy growing up in the midwest while attending the street fairs and county fairs I often had the guilty pleasure of listening to the old-time bands, with their cigar box guitars and mandolins in just total awe and excitement at that specific sound I couldn’t get anywhere else. I get those same feelings when I listen to ‘Time’s a Liar’, the new single and video from The W Lovers. The track, to me, is more than textbook Americana and folk. It’s a timestamp to that certain story that certainly has a background. Filled with subtle harmonies, lush and beautiful string accompaniments, ‘Time’s a Liar’ becomes that homesick soundtrack to a wonderful moment captured in your memory for a lifetime.

About The W Lovers
Fleur and Wesley Wood have made their mark on the live music scene all over the American West, playing over 100 shows a year, since their inception in 2014. Their debut album, released in 2016, was accompanied by four music videos and a live ‘in-studio’ video from Deep Well Studios (WA), where the album was recorded. The sophomore album ‘This Little Town’ – produced by Ryan Hadlock (Lumineers, Brandi Carlile), is set for release in June 2019.

Based in Washington State and friends of the road, touring has taken them from Washington to Colorado and through New Mexico, California, and Oregon. They’ve also played internationally in Canada and New Zealand.

The W Lovers story
Fleur and Wesley Wood met in 2011 while Fleur was touring North America from her homeland New Zealand. Having rented a guitar amplifier for her Canadian shows, she stopped into a music store in Seattle to buy one for her U.S. dates. It was Wesley, who by chance had come in to work that day (on his day off) who sold Fleur the amplifier. Wesley started performing with Fleur around Seattle and in 2014 they rebranded as The W Lovers – a songwriting folk/ Americana duo.

After four years of live shows and a debut album in 2016, Fleur and Wesley Wood are in tune with one another, both in their songwriting and performance, and this second album (to come) takes a shift towards exposing their folksier side. The album ‘This Little Town’ is set for release in June 2019.
