Tamba Tongu is an independent Singer/Songwriter and a represented Model/Actor for BMG Models & Talent Agency and managed by American Artists Group Management based in Los Angeles, CA. Born in suburban Washington D.C. to an immigrant mother from Sierra Leone, Tongu grew up listening to traditional African music, pop music, hip-hop music, country music and r&b soul ballads.

Growing up, Tongu was in the choir and played trombone in the school band. Graduating high school as a three-sport letterman, he attended Towson University in Towson, MD to play Division 1 football. After graduation, he signed an independent contract with Starz 2 Be Entertainment as lead vocalist/songwriter for the hip hop/rock group “Birdies On Parade” in Baltimore, MD where he wrote and recorded an album. He later moved to New York City where he worked in fashion and enrolled in classes at The New York Film Academy.

As a musician, Tongu has toured alongside Eric Bellinger, Compton AV and Anthony Lewis as well as has opened for Juicy J at The Observatory in Orange County, CA. His song “Blood.Sweat.Roar” was featured in Towson University’s alumni magazine for 2015. His song “Time” has been placed in the independent film “Deathpool”. He has performed in Europe, winning the 2016 Austrian Open performing his song “I Will Survive (Get it)”. He has written and recorded multiple music projects with his most recent release being a 7 track EP “Fundamentals” which is available on iTunes, Spotify, and all other digital outlets.

Tamba has been featured in Grammy Award Winner, Kendrick Lamar and SZA’s, “All The Stars” music video for “The Black Panther” soundtrack. He was also featured in Grammy nominated group Greta Van Fleet’s music video “Safari Song”.

As an actor, Tamba has worked on various commercials, webisodes, and a feature film. Most notably, he was cast as the lead for Rushcard Pre-Paid Visa and Toastmasters International. He had a recurring role as “Black Panther” on Youtuber Rachel Levin’s RCLBeauty101 channel. Furthermore, he has had a small role in an independent feature film “Relentless Love”.

As a model, Tongu has appeared in various Fashion Runways throughout Los Angeles including Los Angeles Fashion Week, The Pre-BET Awards Fashion Show, and has been an installation model for Giorgio Armani.

Aside from his art, Tamba has been a voice in his community guest speaking at Samuel Gompers Middle School as well as CATCH (Crenshaw Arts and Tech Charter High School) in South Central, Los Angeles.

Tamba cites Tupac, Leonardo Dicaprio, Jamie Foxx, Bob Dylan, Michael Jackson, Nelly, LeBron James, and Justin Timberlake as major influences.
