About Maryan
This Week's Look at the Artists Playing Liverpool's 2ubeXtra FestivalMaryan (Marianne Ottersen) is a Norwegian twenty-something whose joy is to write and perform songs about the last guy who broke her heart, but perhaps mostly about life’s cheerful times and spread joy to the people in the audience. The genre is pop, but with a lot of influence from the older r&b and soul genres, sounding like artists such as Whitney Huston and Jessie J.

Maryan’s two latest releases “Leave My Sight” and “Better Off” have been well received from her audience, with over 1 500 plays on SoundCloud. Maryan is currently doing gigs frequently around Liverpool, and is expecting to have a busy gig schedule in 2016. One of her biggest performance in the coming year will be her Showcase for the 2ube Xtra Festival in April, performed in The Paul McCartney Auditorium at The Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts.
