I have to say it right at the start for those of you who skim these reviews. This album, “9Lies” kicks ass. Simply put. The Belfast, Ireland outfit has found their niche and sound with this outing. Everything is in it’s place. Hooks. Monstrous beat. Melody. It’s all here. Listen to the previews and hear for yourself because those are not nine lies but ten awesome truths that spit out the next generation of indie with such a fervor that this album doesn’t beg your attention, it demands it. My personal favs are tracks one through five but don’t listen to me here because the last have takes the album in a new direction of equal awesomeness!

Nine Lies are an Alternative Rock Band from Belfast in Northern Ireland, Formed in 2003 and consisting of Stevie Mann (Lyrics/Vocals/Production), Dave Kernohan & Nick Black (Guitars), John Rossi (Bass) and Stephen McAuley [Stoogie] (Drums).
Interesting facts about Nine Lies:
- Nine Lies Bassist John Rossi started his career in a little known band called Snow Patrol.
- Lead Singer Stevie Mann is the second Cousin of Singer/Song Writer Damien Rice.
- Nine Lies Recorded the B Side to ‘Someone’ with Legendary Producer Stuart Epps (Oasis/Robbie Williams/Elton John), but in an odd move produced the A side themselves.
The Band’s new album and long awaited follow up to the critically acclaimed debut Behind it All, ‘9 Lies’ is available worldwide from July 2015.
Davey Kernohan said “It’s been a long time coming. We have had stacks of EPs and singles as you know, but this is our first actual album since Behind It All and we are super excited. It’s an eclectic collection of tunes with themes I couldn’t even have dreamt of writing about or seeing if it hadn’t been for the past few years.”
