1. Almost Pure ft. Steven Siebold Beauty in Chaos 6:02

Beauty in Chaos has delivered the next installment of things to come in the form of their new single titled ‘Almost Pure’, featuring Steven Seibold of Hate Dept. A complete turn around from the last outing featuring Curse Mackey, BIC curator Michael Ciravolo completely throws his ‘no keyboard’ rule into the trash in a beautiful fashion that helps define the song in it’s dark and introverted fashion with the brilliant combination of musical grit and angelic ambiance. Highlighted by a stand-out and elongated hook, ‘Almost Pure’ is almost perfect; that reaching for the muse moment that is slightly out of reach but feels within our grasp. That’s where the beauty feels like chaos.

‘The Storm Before The Calm’ will be released on CD and digitally on May 22 with a later release date to be announced for the vinyl editions. These include 180g vinyl (including a black numbered limited edition and a black & blue duo-tone). Pre-orders come with an immediate download of ‘A Kind Cruelty’ and the full digital release on May 22, including a 25+ minute title opus that does not appear on the vinyl version. ‘The Storm Before The Calm’ can be ordered HERE.

About Beauty in Chaos & ‘Almost Pure’

American alt-rock supergroup Beauty in Chaos presents their new single ‘Almost Pure’ featuring Steven Seibold of the popular industrial-synth-punk Hate Dept., which he formed in 1991 and still continues today. Over the years, he has also contributed to Pigface, together with Martin Atkins.

Beauty in Chaos’ forthcoming album ‘The Storm Before The Calm’ will be released on May 22 via LA-based label 33.3 Music Collective in time for World Goth Day. Recorded at Ciravolo’s own SAINTinLA Studio, it was produced by Michael Rozon, Grammy-nominated for his work with Ministry.

‘Almost Pure’ is the third single from the album to be previewed, following ‘A Kind Cruelty’ featuring Curse Mackey (Pigface, My Life With The Thrill Kill Kult, Evil Mothers) and ‘The Delicate Balance of All Things’  featuring The Mission frontman Wayne Hussey.

Beauty in Chaos is the brainchild of guitarist Michael Ciravolo. Originally from New Orleans and now based in Los Angeles, he is best known as President of Schecter Guitar Research. He also played guitar in Human Drama for 30 years, in addition to playing live and recording with Michael Aston’s Gene Loves Jezebel since 1998.

Steven Seibold is a multi-instrumentalist, singer, composer, producer, music director, recording artist, and performing musician. As a writer, performer, and producer, he has released records as Hate Dept., Standalone, muet, Berlin, Information Society, Pigface, Damage Manual, Super Sport, Americlone, and Seibold the Terrible. He has also been creating music for television commercials and motion pictures since 1995.

“What a great honor to write with such a longtime friend. It makes sense though. Michael and I have always been crazy about much of the same music. Not to mention, as supportive of one another as we could possibly be,” says Steven Siebold.

“This song ‘Almost Pure’ came to me as a lush and tragic sounding plea for love. Every single one of my favorite songs is love songs. They don’t have to be hopeful and sweet,  especially from guys like Michael and I. This one is torn apart and weeping over what once was and the lyrics just dripped out like the last IV bottle in the ward.”

Beauty in Chaos mastermind Michael Ciravolo explains: “The music for this one was part of my original writing output when I sat down to write what I planned to be a ‘darker, linear’ EP.  When I got the vocal demo back from longtime friend Steven Seibold of Hate Dept. and heard ‘these flowers have no scent or color …”, I knew I picked the right writing partner for this soundscape!  Cool minor-key guitar and synth ‘call and answer’ overlays the dark, repetitive drone bass line.  The song ebbs and flows without getting overly grand.  I have always been a fan of Seibold’s quicky biting industrial whit and delivery, and he integrates himself seamlessly into what turned into ‘Almost Pure’.

In 2018, Beauty in Chaos released their acclaimed debut album ‘Finding Beauty in Chaos’, followed by the ‘Beauty Re-Envisioned’ album (2019). Other BIC artists include Simon Gallup (The Cure), Al Jourgensen (Ministry), Robin Zander (Cheap Trick), Pete Parada (The Offspring), dUg Pinnick (Kings X), ICE-T (Body Count), producer Tim Palmer, guitar icon Zakk Wylde, Ashton Nyte (The Awakening), Kevin Haskins (Bauhaus, Love & Rockets), Rolan Bolan, Michael Anthony (Van Halen), Michael Aston (Gene Loves Jezebel), Paul Wiley (Marilyn Manson), Michael Aston and Dirk Doucette (Gene Loves Jezebel), Pando (A Flock of Seagulls), UMMAGMA, Evi Vine, Johnny Indovina (Human Drama), Danny Lohner (Nine Inch Nails, Marilyn Manson), Betsy Martin (Caterwaul / Purr Machine), Kevin Kipnis (Purr Machine) and KITTY LECTRO, among others.
