The band’s previous four singles have enjoyed extensive airplay on BBC 6 Music and ‘Don’t Mind’ was selected for a coveted slot on Steve Lamacq’s Round Table which saw the single awarded a very respectable 7/10 from each guest on the panel. Playlisted twice on Xfm, featured three times as the station’s Shock of the New and with their single ‘Forever In Your Debt’ selected as one of the top 5 singles of the week in December 2014, it seems that journalist and musician John Robb was absolutely right to predict that 2015 will see The Slow Readers Club breaking through to become one of the most important bands to emerge from Manchester’s music scene in recent years. The Slow Readers Club regularly receive rave reviews for their live shows and 2014’s highlights include a sold out show at Manchester’s Night and Day and appearances at Tramlines Festival, Party in the Pines and Blackthorn Festival together with support slots for Catfish & The Bottlemen, The Struts, Reverend and the Makers and The Sunshine Underground. The band will be touring ‘Cavalcade’ throughout April 2015. “The Slow Readers Club are without doubt on the cusp of something spectacular and if you haven’t immersed yourself in their indie electro sounds by now, then it’s high time you paid attention.” Louise Dodgson – CityLife Extra “We are extremely excited about these guys here at XFM.” Mike Walsh – Head of Music, Xfm One of XFM’s Top 5 Songs Of The Week (1 December 2014) “The Slow Readers Club B-sides are far better than most bands’ A-sides.” Louder Than War “Darkly melancholic atmospheric palls of sound that curl their way around the room, like mesmeric threads caught in the evening sunlight.” Emerging Indie Bands “Exceptional… The Slow Readers Club is one of the UK’s brightest propositions.” Ringmaster Review “Able to deliver a catchy and emotive indie electro rock sound, The Slow Readers Club are worth checking out.” Pure M Magazine LINKS: http://www.theslowreadersclub.co.uk http://www.facebook.com/theslowreadersclub http://www.youtube.com/theslowreadersclub http://www.twitter.com/slowreadersclub Gigs: TUESDAY 31ST MARCH THE MACBETH – LONDON Tickets £5 http://theslowreadersclub.bandcamp.com/merch/ticket-to-the-slow-readers-club-live-at-the-macbeth-in-london [contact_info email=”[email protected]” phone=”+44 2077 490600 ” address=”70 Hoxton Street, London N1 6LP”][/contact_info] FRIDAY 3RD APRIL THE ABACUS – SCUNTHORPE FREE ENTRY [contact_info email=”[email protected]” phone=”+44 1724 844788″ address=”177-195 High Street, Scunthorpe, North Lincolnshire DN15 6LN”][/contact_info] FRIDAY 17TH APRIL VERVE – LEEDS FREE ENTRY [contact_info email=”[email protected]” phone=”+44 113 244 2272″ address=”16 Merrion Street, City Centre, Leeds LS1 6PQ”][/contact_info] SATURDAY 18TH APRIL ACADEMY 3 – MANCHESTER Tickets £8 http://www.seetickets.com/event/the-slow-readers-club-special-guests/manchester-academy-3/842151 [contact_info email=”[email protected]” phone=”+44 161 275 2930″ address=”3 Oxford Road Manchester M13 9PR”][/contact_info] THURSDAY 23RD APRIL THE ROCKING CHAIR – SHEFFIELD Tickets £5 [contact_info email=”[email protected]” phone=”+44 1142 412345″ address=”23 Furnival Gate, Sheffield S1 4QR”][/contact_info] Comments
